This machine is overall pretty awesome. It's small enough to easily fit on my kitchen counter, and to be honest, it's really no bigger than a standard Keurig machine. I have always felt very intimidated by the idea of trying to make espresso at home, but this machine takes out all of the guesswork. I like that the water reservoir is on the back of the machine. I also like that it only has three buttons (one for espresso, one for a stronger espresso, and one for a coffee made of espresso and hot water). That's it. Just three buttons. I also love that the portafilter moves on it's own from the side that inserts the grounds to the side that brews the espresso. I do wish it came with the cute little espresso cup in the pictures, but it's not a big deal. I use a thick, small, stemless wine glass in it's place and it works perfectly. I also wish the container that holds the espresso beans was a bit bigger. Ideally, I would prefer that it hold a standard 12 oz bag of espresso beans. Overall, the machine is great. My only complaint is that it seemed to take some time to warm up and I wasted about 3-5 shots of espresso (and beans) waiting for it to make a good puck, and a good shot of espresso. It also seems that if the portafilter is not cleaned out 100%, rinsed, and dried before reuse, that the machine leaks water when the portafilter is making espresso. Perhaps these kinks will work themselves out as I use the machine (today is only day two).

Truly impressed! I’ve been using the newest Nespresso machine and was always underwhelmed. But have been loving the Philips Baristina from my first use. The grinder is surprisingly quiet, it pours a quality shot and the temp is perfect. It doesn’t beat my favorite coffee shop in town but it’s the next best thing and much more convenient. Only warning is that it’s so good and easy to use that I’ve ended up drinking far too much coffee than I should some mornings.

There was random broken plastic inside the water tank but I looked the machine over and could not find anything cracked or chipped.I love coffee and I am familiar with expresso machines so this machine was super easy for me to figure out when it came to operating it.But it didn’t come with ANY instructions or troubleshooting help.A booklet of warnings was included and a code on the box that went to a site with some Q&A but my issue couldn’t be found there.Upon the first use, the machine spit and leaked water EVERYWHERE.Hot water.I figured it was broken between the broken seals, chunk of plastic and leaking water.However, I am familiar with coffee machines and absolutely LOVE coffee and I was determined to figure out the issue.I figured it had something to do with the bean grinder.So I shook the beans around, helped a few down the shute and also looked online for help.I discovered MANY have had the same issue on the first few uses and the fix was to do what I was doing and kinda shake some beans down the first use.Once that issue was resolved, the machine has worked PERFECTLY!It’s super easy to use but better instructions and troubleshooting is needed for those less familiar with espresso machines.You simply add beans to the top, place the portafilter into the slot, add water to the tank, pick the brew you want, espresso, Lungo or extra and then slide the portafilter to the right.Thats it.In no time, the filter slides back and brews this amazing flavored espresso.And the espresso is HOT, FLAVORFUL and just SO SO good!!I’m a coffee fiend and this little machine makes an espresso that could compete with much more expensive full size machines.It’s just that good.But where it really shines is with ice coffee.I have used the baristina to make everything from shaken espressos to blonde roast, to blonde shots in my chia tea for the best “dirty hippy” chia tea I’ve ever made at home!I’ve made so many flavored ice coffees since it arrived that I have not spent one dime in a coffee shop.I LOVE it.The portafilter has worked exactly as it should and zero leaks since the first use.If the directions had mentioned the issue with the beans flowing into the grinder the first use it would have kept me from thinking it was broken.I’m still confused about the unboxing issues and the chunk of plastic inside the tank but once I got it working it’s been the best upgrade to my daily coffee routine ever!

I love how quick and easy this machine is to use. Just add beans and water, swipe the handle, and you get a fresh cup of coffee in under a minute. The design is beautiful and compact — perfect for my kitchen. The coffee tastes great, and the built-in grinder is surprisingly quiet. It’s not a café-level espresso, but it’s perfect for everyday use. Very happy with this purchase!

Before I got this Baristina I had been using a Keurig for over 10 years. This has simply changed my life, I now drink coffee out of pure enjoyment instead of just a wake me up. 10/10 will be recommending this to everyone! I am now my own at home barista!

I’m so glad that I made the upgrade! I don’t know too much about grounding the beans and making the coffee but this made everything so easy! No assembly process and comes straight to use. The quality is great and the coffee is amazing

This is such a great espresso machine! It is efficient and quiet. The espresso quality is top tier with little to no residual grounds coming through during the brewing process. I haven’t done a descale yet as I just got it but hopefully that is just as efficient!

It is a beautiful espresso machine, but the box seems to have been opened and the overall packaging is not complete, so I can only return the product.
