Beastie Boys Anthology (The Criterion Collection) [DVD]

I went through this whole thing in one sitting.Loved hearing the group talk about the videos along with the other commentaries and the videos themselves.Must like the beastie boys and music videos to really enjoy this though.

I had this growing up. The DVD's are the same, still chock full of great videos and commentary. There are lots of alternate tracks for the videos, like remixes, etc.Before, it was a double wide DVD case, but now it's single wide, and the discs sit one on top of the other, so you have to take out disc 1 to get to disc 2. Not a deal breaker for me, but maybe for someone else. More importantly, it does NOT have the poster or booklet the older editions came with, which is a bummer because it's one of the best features of the item as a whole.

You don't just get their music videos plainly presented on a dvd , you get the Beastie boys universe condensed into a very special double disc set. This anthology will give you a whole new love for the Beastie Boys, seeing how innovative they were and seeing how their sense of humor shows in each video. Watch in sequence for subtitles and commentary, or with supplements for remixes and angles that push the limits of the DVD itself. Comes with a poster too!

The fact that we have a visual record of some of the finest music videos in the history of music video is more than enough! I liked it, it was better than CATS! And George Lucas stole Star Wars from Nathaniel Hornblower!

Censored? Really, Criterion? It's hard to guess who the intended audience was here. Nice content, great bonuses...and then all the songs are censored versions which is really jarring and needless. Did you guys think 12 year olds were buying a 2-disc set of old hip hop videos from a nerdy restoration company? Is that why you felt the need to do this?

I was swayed by the glowing reviews of this disc and bought it for my husband, a huge Beasties fan.It's a great compilation of their videos, many of which we had never seen. The extras seem nice, too. But at the end of the day, it's just a collection of videos. Oh, well. It's nice to have. We enjoyed watching it.And rest in peace, MCA.

This DVD was awesome! I only wish it included the video for "Fight for Your Right". Still a great buy for any Beastie Boys fan.

What a collection of classics here. So many exclusive remixes on this dvd! The poster is proudly displayed above my hifi.

for the remixes alone this is a gem. there is so much bonus stuff here to last for weeks.
