Bear Grylls 3-in-1 Hydro Lamp - Water Bottle, Solar USB Power Bank and Lantern (Clear)

Bought this as a Father's Day gift for my husband. He does a lot of hiking and we plan to take our son camping soon, so I thought this would be a handy tool to have. After charging several hours in the sun, we were pleased to see the amount of light the bottle puts out. We haven't used the USB feature yet, but worry that the adapter piece will be easy to lose. Also, my husband wishes it held more water. All in all though, I think we will enjoy using it on outdoor trips or even during power outages as an extra source of light and a phone charger.

I bought two of these and took them on a two-night backpacking trip. I charged the caps before we left, and I’m assuming that the solar panels kept the caps charged during our hiking (?). The light the caps provide in the bottles is great! However, when I tried to use both bottles to charge my phone, neither provided any charge at all. Not sure if I got defective caps or if none of them work well for charging electronics. I was disappointed that the product didn’t charge electronics as advertised. If you’re looking for a beautiful water lamp, this is a great product. The blue is especially pretty.

Really cool, but the product could be better if the charging adapter wasn’t a separate, easily lost piece.”do not submerse lid in water”. Guess it’s going in the dry box if rafting instead of the cooler? Will find out on that one. Otherwise really cool and great for the money.

This bottle is a great concept. The light is bright and it looks awesome. However, there was no USB adapter in the box, despite the instructions saying one was included. The USB plug that is wound ingeniously around the bottom terminates in a standard (full-size) male USB plug. In order to be able to plug in one's phone with a standard cord (also male), one needs a female-to-female adapter. If the seller responds to my email and sends the missing adapter, I will update my review.

Neat idea and sleek designs. Takes awhile to charge and doesn’t seem to hold a charge a long time. But does illuminate well. Have not tried to charge my phone while camping so I hope that works good.

Will use this water bottle on a camping trip. When I gave it a test drive it seemed to be nice and bright for the light. I have not tried the charging aspect yet.

My 3-1 bottle arrived quickly and did not disappoint. I charged it with a wall charger because we were experiencing several days of rain and solar power wasn’t to be! The highest power is bright enough to use as the lantern that it claims to be. I absolutely love my bottle and would recommend it without hesitation.

It lights up and works just fine. Bottle itself just feels flimsy.

A great camping lamp or everyday lamp! Reflects brightly through the water. Will only charge your phone a little and slowly but is a good emergency feature! (Cast away!)
