I bought this notebook to graph using sharpie fine tip pens for ink clarity and sharp color. My one concern was that the sharpie might leak through the paper, but this paper is both really smooth and very thick. I think some people had issues with permeability- I think that might be due to a wetter ink. I don't know how gel pens hold up. In my experience, the ink doesn't smear even though the paper is so smooth it feels like drawing on plastic.Lives up to the product description. Recommended use with fine tip pens, ink-flow pens- any pen or pencil that can glide over the soft paper and not press in.

Great in most ways. I love the feel and color of the paper, the size is right, and the cover and stitching is extremely nice. But if you use fountain pens, it's rather mediocre. The overall paper coating quality is a little worse than Rhodia, towards the bottom of almost every page, the coating gets spotty and you get MASSIVE feathering at the pooling part of each pen stroke, even fine, fairly dry nibs struggle.And to top it off, the Showthrough is borderline bleed. Noodlers golden brown in a medium flowing fine 14k nib shows through quite badly, about like the ultrathin tomoe river.Dry times are quite long, too. I've never seen black Swan in Australian roses smudge, but it does even after 30 seconds, again, with a medium flowing fine nib.I could live with the Showthrough, even the long dry times, if the bottom third of every page didn't feather so horribly. This is likely not just the book I got, because my apica cd-15 did it too, but that book cost a third the price. For what you pay, this book should be better. As much as I dislike the super white color, I am probably going back to Rhodia because I cannot find a good a4, ivory, fountain pen friendly notebook in graph lines or dot grid.

Absolutely amazing quality paper! Feels substantially heavy for a notebook, and the paper texture is very smooth.Every page you write on lays flat, so binding throughout the notebook is excellent. Cover is beautiful as well, has a nice textured surface (makes you feel extra fancy).All in all nothing I can complain about this notebook. Would highly recommend!!

This notebook is exquisitely made and the paper feels very smooth and of premium quality :-) I tried writing on the paper with a pen and it flows very smoothly as does regular wood pencils. I usually prefer writing with a pencil of type H or 2H, and it writes very well also, plus you can definitely tell the hardness of the pencils apart. Unlike some other types of paper, which you may be unable to tell the difference between the HB and H, the Apica Notebook is if superb quality, if you are the type of person who has a touch for quality, and loves to write, than a few extra bucks makes this a very nice investment :-)

If you are a writer or journaller this is absolutely hands down the best paper money can buy. I will never use anything else ever again. This is my second journal purchase of Apica's paper and I'm so thankful I bought it. Its hard to find in the US so I'm thankful to have found a distributor here on amazon that carries it.

メンタリストDaigoさんがこちらのノートおすすめされていたので購入させていただきました。正直、購入する前まで「紙に1000円近く払うんもったいないなぁ。。」と思ってました。ですが今となっては逆に、「なんでこのノートにもっと早くに出会えなかったんやろう」と思ってるくらいです。笑私が普段携わっている業務でもずっと紙に触れる環境におりますがここまで「紙」にもクオリティの差があるとは..過去に意識すらしたことがありませんでした。まるでシルクに触れているような紙質です。文字を書くことにここまで喜びを感じれるとは。。。最高の商品ですよ！！！書いて書いて、書きまくって全ページを制覇したら。。また同じノートを買います！笑

英語の勉強に使っています。どのページを開いても見開きがペタンと180°開くので、とても使いやすいです。紙質がツルツルで手触りも良く、フリクションボールペンとの相性も◎。表紙の硬さも絶妙で、しっかりカバー効果があるのに、しなやかでページがめくりやすい。方眼が細かいので、文字も書きやすく読みやすい。　細部にまで色んなことに配慮されたノートだと思います。良いことづくしでとても気に入りました。
