TL;DR - The near entry-level buds from Nothing's entry-level sub-brand are anything but entry-level Background: When Prime Day rolled around, I had the opportunity to snag both the CMF Buds 2 and the Buds Pro 2 for a really good deal. I was curious to see for myself what perceivable differences (if any) existed between the two models. Would more money prove to be "more better", or would the little brother keep up well enough with big brother to sap the legitimacy out of the price difference? Walk with me for a bit... The Good: In terms of aesthetics, the Buds 2 come off as a bit nicer than the typical offerings in the price range. The charging case sports a nice, minimalist half-cube design with rounded corners. The buds have what I like to think of as a "single quote" design, with the bulbous in-ear portion and the small "leg" descending from it. Overall, they fit the ear well, and they stay put (always a plus). Operating the controls via the touch sensors on the legs is straightforward and drama-free, with the taps registering every time, and very little lag between the input and resulting action. The sound quality is impressive for the humble market segment for which these are priced. Instead of merely inundating the listener with overwrought, murky bass, the quality and clarity of sound across the sound spectrum is indicative of a serious effort in providing those with a modest budget a rich experience. The bass is substantial without upstaging the rest of the frequencies. The mids convey vocals clearly and authoritatively. The highs are crisp, piercing, and well-defined. To sweeten the deal, you have on offer fairly remarkable noise cancellation (with decent transparency/awareness mode), spatial audio, six equalizer presets plus a custom mode, and a five-increment bass boost (dubbed "Ultra bass"), allowing you to further personalize and dial in your auditory experience. The Bad: There really isn't much here to complain about. If I had to nitpick, I suppose I can gripe about the included fidget toy on the charging case. What do I mean by that? Lemme 'splain: on the charging case for the Buds Pro 2, the wheel/knob/thingy (called the "smart dial") is actually functional and serves a purpose. It can change volume, ANC/transparency modes, and handle some other actions. The (not-so-smart) dial on the Buds 2 case does nothing, offering zero controls or functions. Other than perhaps maintaining a "family resemblance" to the Pro 2 with regard to design language, I can't see a single reason for it. Vs the Buds Pro 2: Folks, this is a tough one. In terms of sound, the difference between the two are darn near imperceivable. In my experience, there is the tiniest difference in spatial audio, with the feature on the Pro 2 model being ever-so-slightly more immersive. The only other real difference (and, again, it's difficult to detect) is that the noise cancellation and transparency is just a bit stronger on the Pro 2. For look and feel, the biggest difference is in the charging case, and not solely the smart dial (Pro 2) vs the dumb-as-a-doorknob dial (Buds 2). No, the finish on the Pro 2 case a lightly rubberized texture that lends it a more upmarket quality, whereas the Buds 2 case is just the bare plastic. Also, the Pro 2 case features a triple circle logo (presumably related to the smart dial) in the lower right corner, while the Buds 2 case displays "cmf by NOTHING" in stylized lettering in the same location. As for the buds, themselves, the Pro 2 buds feature the same triple circle design down the legs, whereas the legs on the Buds 2 are blank. Lastly, the Pro 2 ear cushions are black as opposed to the charcoal gray of the Buds 2 (both sets of buds are black in color). Finally, concerning the difference in functionality, it all comes down to the smart dial (or lack thereof). Scouring the Nothing X app, all the options you have for the Pro 2 are available for the Buds 2, except for the ability to configure action mapping for the smart dial. That's it. You get the same ANC options, spatial audio, EQ, action mapping, etc. Conclusion: Despite being the second from the lowest entry in CMF's wireless earbuds lineup (Buds 2a < Buds 2 < Buds 2 Plus < Buds Pro 2), and CMF itself being Nothing's value sub-brand, there is a lot to like, here. You're not compromising on sound, functionality, usability, or style for the sake of obtainability. When comparing these to the top-of-the-range Buds Pro 2, what you're truly getting for the extra $$$ is insignificantly better audio and a (gimmicky IMHO) feature on the charging case. Depending on sales/promotions and whatnot, if the gap in price between the two models is minimal, go ahead and grab the Pro 2. If not, you really won't be missing out on much with the Buds 2.

TLDR AirPods Pro do it better, but these do it cheap—and good enough. Everything about these earbuds comes down to the price. Are they the best earbuds? No. Are they the best for the price? Absolutely. They do pretty much everything AirPods Pro can do, but at a lower quality level. Setup was easy, though I did have a couple of connection issues with the left earbud at first—thankfully, that never happened again. Noise canceling is decent for this price range; if AirPods Pro are “good,” these are “mediocre.” The one real annoyance I found is that if there’s a sharp, loud popping sound in the environment, the earbuds sometimes produce a loud cracking noise. I only discovered this because of a metal fidget toy I play with, so most people may never notice. Battery life is great—better than AirPods Pro in terms of the case, and the buds themselves last a solid amount of time. I got the orange color and love the design. I appreciate what this company stands for: great value and solid quality without charging premium prices. These earbuds fit that mold perfectly. They’re not the best at anything, but in this price range, nothing comes close. Ive been a long time fan of the “nothing” products, and saw that they were in the wireless earbuds game- so decided to give these a try instead as they had a much more vibrant color pallet which I was into. These are very nice in person, and they come with a range of eartips to ensure a secure comfortable fit in your ear. I stuck with the mediums and they seemed to be comfortable in my ear for 2.5 hours. They didnt move, even with violent headbanging to my music— stable if you ask me. There is an app that you can get to connect the earbuds easily and adjust the sound/ equalizer settings. These have a good amount of bass- much more than i was expecting. They are tuned pretty well out of the box- nothing really sounding muddy or drowned out. The Hybrid ANC feature really stood out to me and influenced picking this one out of the others. I was greatly impressed by the amount of sound it was able to tune out while I was working on my laptop at a coffee shop. The transparency mode was also pretty good for small conversations without taking out your earbuds. There is a sensor that pauses your music/audio automatically if you take the earbud out of your ear- which is a great touch. I havent had to charge the headphones yet outside of the case (it has a very long battery life) but its usb c which is very handy as everything else i own uses that cable. The case has a dial, but unlike the other similar ones in the line up there isnt a function for this dial. It wouldve been cool if it could adjust volume or had a button to press and skip/pause songs without touching the stem. The case is also a little big, but its not outrageous— you should be able to fit it in a small pocket still. Overall im really happy with the quality of these for the money — i tend to lose my earbuds and these are easy enough to replace without shame if anything happens to these.

Given the current promotional price these Nothing Buds are an absolute bargain. I always lose earbuds and typically have a few pairs to circulate at the one time. I have just added these, primarily for the gym. I like the case and volume controller, it’s a nice additional feature. Connecting these is super easy and they show up in my Bluetooth settings on pretty much all devices. They fit quite well. I would have liked an even larger set of in ear tips. I find the sound quality to be very good. I get a clear balanced sound with enough bass. Where it drops a point is the ANC, it’s really not that great from my experience. I tried these on a flight but gave up after a short while. The noise cancellation is nowhere near strong enough for air travel or very loud environments. On the plus side, battery life seems strong though I need to use them for longer to really test the playback duration.

It's a really good product. The transparency mode is not as good as the AirPods that I've used in the past, but the noise cancellation is significantly better in my opinion. It's very comfortable for a long-term wear, and the app support is very nice. I've never seen any thing like it that continuously updates has updates. The value is extreme good and it makes me interested in other products that the company has to offer

I love them. They work great, have excellent sound quality, and the battery lasts a long time. The best feature is the dual device connection. The app is very useful.

Saw this on the Prime Day deal for a great price and decided to give them a try. Just straight out connecting up and listening to something...they were ok. The magic of this is really in the app. Once I got the app installed and configured the EQ, setup the noise canceling and the spatial sound, totally different ballgame! These went from ok to great just by utilizing the right software for it to shine. Read a lot of reviews on these and saw how much they were hit and miss for some. Seriously, take the time, setup the app, and enjoy the great sound on these!!

Pretty solid earbuds. For a very reasonable price you get TWS buds with consistent Bluetooth connection (no dropping out), okay noise cancellation and kind of whatever transparency mode (more of a treat to me than a feature), and the detail/clarity in the sound is a respectable 7 or 8/10 IMO. I think they fall under the trope of higher mid bass to add "flavor", which thankfully you can easily EQ in the the app, and they EQ just fine. Speaking of the app: I love the UI, I think even my grandma can navigate it, menus make sense and it's the right amount of minimalist; where you actually have control over your product but it's not overwhelming. Anyways, my only complaint with these buds is the copycat airpods design- they slip out of my ears constantly which makes it lose bass while listening, which was a problem with my AirPods Pros when I owned them, but otherwise if you need simple buds for casual listening on Spotify, these work fine. I see these as a total 7/10 product, they aren't awful, far from that actually- just don't expect your socks to get blown off, they aren't even surpassing $100 USD.

La prima impressione è stata positiva: la custodia è compatta, gli auricolari sono leggeri e la qualità costruttiva è buona. Il design è semplice ma curato, con una finitura che risulta piacevole al tatto. La qualità audio mi ha soddisfatto. I driver da 11 mm offrono un suono piacevole, con bassi presenti e un ascolto adatto soprattutto a musica moderna, podcast e contenuti multimediali. Non sono auricolari pensati per un ascolto audiofilo, ma per l'utilizzo quotidiano svolgono molto bene il loro lavoro. La cancellazione attiva del rumore (ANC) è un'aggiunta molto utile. Non elimina completamente tutti i rumori esterni, ma aiuta sicuramente a ridurre i suoni ambientali, soprattutto in luoghi come mezzi pubblici, uffici o ambienti affollati. Anche l'autonomia è uno dei punti forti: la durata della batteria permette di utilizzarli a lungo senza dover pensare continuamente alla ricarica.
