Really good radio for the money !
Really good so far! Apple play is great and google maps works flawlessly, the sound quality is great. Not hard to install at all you just have to get the essential wires/ harness and mount for it. Mine was a Chrysler 300 2008 and it took me 2 hours to set it up and install and this was my first time doing it just watched lots of how to videos prior to installing it. Would definitely recommend. Will update I’m a couple of months to give more feedback.

Best radio!
Amazing head unit! Lots of features especially for trying to modernize an older vehicle. 10x more anazing if you can get idatalink setup to it with an older vehicle or a modded vehicle for onboard stats. Amazing power and sound! I like that you can change the color themes because I'm doing a black and lime/neon green color scheme and being able to change that to fit my interior is a nice touch!

What an UPDATE !!!
I am pretty much Old School (If it ain't broke, don't fix it) and I am a die hard Kenwood man (my head-unit, amps, speakers and subs). I decided to step it up with this unit, I have truly been missing out !!!I know many will say this unit is OLD, but compared to my DDX672 (sounded great, never let me down) this unit absolutely EXCEEDED my expectations with all the features, and most of all the customization of sound - BLEW my mind !!!Long story, short - KENWOOD FOR LIFE !!!

Waze/Weblink pretty Beta, no mechanical tilt, lower quality screen
Ok so it's pretty hard to compare HU features. I don't use Maestro integration, no dual zones, I also have no cameras. I have an existing installed separate amp, and have components plus subwoofer already installed just switching out HU.Pros:Good price at approx. $400GREAT sound quality. The SQ and DSP is 100% better than my old Alpine ILX-W404. The imaging and clarity is night and day.GREAT FM reception, not HD radio though (need add on)Android Auto is good you get hands free voice command for Phone, GPS, and Amazon MusicCool graphic equalizer visualization on the homescreen, and the keys change colorTakes two USB connections so I can have a ipod and my Galaxy S7 hooked up simultaneouslyCons:The Waze and proprietary Kenwood weblink software is a Beta level of quality. Right now it's not creating audio and it's VERY Laggy. Unusable, or certainly pointless vs. just using my phone. Since this is the main defining feature I'd say maybe look at anther model. No mechanical tilt. My dash has it at an angle, this would help. Digital adjustment helps but not a replacement.Lower quality screen- Consider the DDX9704S at this price point of approx. $400. You get mech tilt, better capacitive screen, HD radio, and all you will lose is the fairly useless native Waze integration (the GPS capability is met with Android Auto which gets it done). Maybe the Waze integration will get better with future software updates, but even then probably not worth it. It might be better on iphone. I already installed this damn thing I am not doing it again. - update android auto has Waze integration therefore this kenwood weblink is completely end of life. Therefore you should buy the 9704.

Stopped working after 1 year.
Stopped working just over a year after purchase. Below is what I emailed and their response.Hello, I've had this stereo just over a year and now all of a sudden the sound will randomly just stop. The music display still shows the sound bars as if the music is playing, but there is no sound. It does not matter the source, whether Bluetooth, radio, etc..We checked the connections and also the speakers and they are all fine. Will you please replace this defective item and I will return it?Response:I'm sorry about that, I can't help you with the order since it has passed the manufacturer's warranty period.Thank You

Quit working just in time for me to return it within 30 days of purchase
It's a wired apple carplay radio... at the time of purchase I didn't know that wireless apple carplay existed.. so keep in mind that you will have to connect your phone by USB every single time you want to connect to the apple carplay...It's going to use your phone's processor (I think) to do things like waze, etc, so if you don't connect your phone physically, and try to use waze, I don't know why but it absolutely, without a doubt sucked at running the waze app.I don't know if it's at Kenwood's manufacturing plant or my car (I'm quite confident it's not my car's fault), but the product was showing signs of it going bad after about a week from my purchase date, and as the weeks went by, towards the end of the 30 days it died completely. Kenwood is one of the good brands of radios to buy, it's one of the brands that usually won't fail on you on situations like this, but this radio did. So be aware of all these implications when buying this radio.I liked that it had physical buttons to press when raising/lowering the volume, but maybe you guys like touch screens to lower/raise the volume ? You can also customize the radio and and change the colors of the buttons.
