Shooter / The Peacemaker / Four Brothers [DVD]

Can't remember who famously said two out of three ain't bad but this certainly applies to this collection of films. I bought this boxed set primarily for the Peacemaker film and therefore the other two films were a free bonus. The Peacemaker was a suprisingly good film. I wouldn't rate it as an all time great but it wasn't bad for it's genre as an exciting action film. George Clooney does some of his better acting in this one! Similarly I was pleasantly surprised by Mark Wahlberg in the film the shooter which was pacy and well thought through and I didn't get bored once. This film was a good bonus. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for four brothers which is probably likely to appeal to a certain section of the American market who like high violence gangster films. It really wasn't my sort of thing. I don't mind violence but this film really was over the top and I found a lot of the violence gratuitous. So if like me you buy this boxed set for a low price and treat two of the films as bonuses it's good value for money but don't expect all three films to be to your taste.

not bad films which are well worth a watching if you can get it cheap enough second hand or ex rental

Four brothers dvd stalled during playback. The other two were perfect. But, still delighted with product.
