Volcanic Girls Hardcover – November 1, 2011

I have quickly become a fan of Stefen Soell - he frames his photos well, he shoots very attractive models, and he picks interesting settings and takes good shots while doing what I think is most important with nudes: emphasizing the physical beauty of the models. This book is an interesting contrast to Soell's Waldlust - while the photos in Waldlust were taken mostly in lush, green settings, these are set in more bleak (yet still beautiful in their own way) volcanic landscapes. Very highly recommended.

Not all the models are red heads but the ones that are really lovely. Some of the poses are quite explicit but well done. The models are lovely and have a verity of different body types. Some full and curvy others lean and slim. All of the models are very attractive. Some of the settings they are in are almost as stunning as the models themselves.

With the title and front cover, I had hoped for a book with more Red Headed beauties. Still it is a nicely produced book with plenty of beautiful women in various artistic (and sometimes less than artistic) poses.

Pictures are excellent, of course the models are beautiful. Stefan has a creative mind and express the girls characters well through their props and scenery. My favorite is Ariel, particularly her picture of climb a bare tree like a fire rising up, a beautiful flame standing still in time. =)

I find women with red hair so irresistable, Stefan Soell really knows how to photograph women, If you like to see beautiful women in the nude, than this one is a sure winner, the locations, the domestic settings, full body shots, everything is picture perfect, Highly Recommend this one to all those would-be photographers out there.

Stefan Soll has three books out, this is one of them, all have wonderfully beautiful women portrayed in great scenic settings.Alpegluhn set in the alps, Waldlust in forests and this one Volcanic Girls set in you guessed it, volcano's. The beauty of the women is matched by the beauty of the background. Amazing series, if you can get all three.

Stefa soell, talented photographer. very nice view, lanscape, scenery back stage and natural . If the book has a bit bigger size like 24x30 cm. at least, the book would value more.I think the publisher and/or Stefan could consider this comment.Regards,Supawit, THAILAND

If you like photography and beautiful nude girls, just buy this book. Gorgeous girls, well composed pictures, what else do you need? Just go ahead and spend some bucks.

Love this book. It contains many erotic pictures. Some of the models are new, but some came from  Alpenglühn  Stefan Soell's preceding book. It's a book that lived up to my expectations and is great for a photographer's collection. Highly recommend it if you're interested in beautiful women. Alpenglühn

I bought this book a few weeks ago and I'm not disappointed. It contains nude portraits of beautiful women, some of whom have appeared in Stefan's other book, Waldlust. The locations are sites on volcanic islands, by boulders or black volcanic sand and props also appear in some of the pictures. The pics are well planned and imaginative while the textures of rock, wood, fabric and flesh are clearly apparent. Some of the photos are in villas but these locations don't compromise lighting quality as one might expect. Fans of nude photography and life drawing will like this book.

Stefan Söll weiss perfekt, wie Frauen auf Bild aufzunehmen sind. Die hübschen Modelle mit fantastischen Naturlandschaften im Hintergrund sorgen für etwas sehr Ästhetisches und Erotisches. Ein Must-Have, sowie die Bücher 'Alpenglühn' und 'Waldlust'.

Leider ein Rückschritt.Dieser Band erzeugt zwiespältige Gefühle.Die Photos selbst sind ohne Zweifel von gehobener Ästhetik und in ihrer Qualität gut vergleichbar mit den Bildern in Stefan Soells hervorragenden ersten Band "Alpenglühn".Leider kann man das von der hier vorliegenden Buchpräsentation nicht behaupten.Dazu tragen zwei wesentliche Punkte bei:Erstens das deutlich kleinere Format des Buches 27 x 21,8 statt 30,2 x 24,6 und zweitens die sehr häufige Verwendung von Photos im Querformat.Sind diese auf einer Seite fallen sie wirklich sehr klein geradezu mickrig aus und da nur ein Bild pro Seite wird außerdem viel Platz verschenkt.Dazu kommt daß bei den wenigen Querformat-Bildern im Doppelformat oft die Buchmitte das dargestellte Modell zerschneidet.Auch das war beim Vorgänger durch intelligente Bildauswahl/Komosition meist deutlich besser gelöst, zB Weitwinkel Landschaftsaufnahme mit Model vollständig auf einer Seite des Buches.Fazit, ein eher enttäuschendes Produkt vor allem im direkten Vergleich.Schade der erste Band hat gezeigt wie man es richtig macht.Der um 10 Euro geringere Preis ist da kein Trost.
