Necessary Metallic Thread Techniques
There's a small learning curve with metallic thread. First, you need to use a metallic or top stitch needle because they have larger needle eyes for the thread to flow through and not shred. Second, slow down your stitching. I put my machine on the slow setting and it was still too fast so I went into my settings and lowered the embroidery max stitch speed to the lowest setting. Third, you need to loosen your top tension. On my Baby Lock Aerial, it seems I can only adjust the top tension in the sewing state so I adjusted the embroidery tension in the menu settings. It's generally at zero so I brought it down to -2. I just leave it there for my whole project whether I'm using regular embroidery ghread or metallic, my machine seems to do fine with the -2 tension needed for metallic. Needle type, Speed and Tension. If you do not do these things, particularly the tension and speed, any metallic thread will shred and break your needles, this thread is no exception. This thread is beautiful, affordable and standard weight. My Baby Lock does extremely well with Brothread and I appreciate their quality and affordability. The negative reviews on here are from people who are not adjusting their embroidery technique needed for metallic thread. This thread is great and it's not a gamble, it'll run beautifully if you follow the 3 things needed. Also, I only use 75/11 top stitch needles for embroidery, with any thread, and things go very smoothly.

Gorgeous but slightly delicate
The color variety is amazing and they shimmer beautifully in finished projects. Yes, metallic thread can be tricky, but with the right needle (metallic or topstitch) and lower speed, they stitch like butter. If you're patient and experienced, these are wonderful to work with. Love these!

Colors are beautiful, most the threads are great. A few, went into the trash.
Metallic threads can be an issue, and a FEW of the colors in this selection were 'rough' and broke (a lot) others worked up just fine. If you want to use metallics, then I recommend you try a simple test piece, with the colors you want before doing it on an expensive garment. The cost is very good, so it is worth the time.

Best mm metallic thread for embroidery!!
This is the best metallic thread for embroidery! I would put it up against Kingstar where one spool costs about as much as the whole box of Brothread!!

Great value metallic embroidery thread
I've used many brands of metallic embroidery thread over the years and I'm pleased with the performance of this brand. You can't beat the price, so this is what I'm sticking with for all my craft projects. On my Brother single-needle embroidery machine, metallic thread breaks more often than rayon or poly threads - because of the materials it's made from it is more brittle and sucumbs to twists more often. However this New Brothread metallic does not break as often as many other brands. When I use the spool net (included in the box!) and I keep an eye on how the thread feeds I can keep it running through a full color stitchout without breakage. Yes, it takes some attention, but all metallics do on my machine and some will break even with that care. But this has worked well. I find that it has a nice amount of reflectivity for a metallic look. I'll be back for more.
