Excellent pair of small, high quality, multi-function pliers
Ever since I discovered Knipex through some of their more unique products (eg Cobra pipe wrench & the awesome pliers wrench) I have been going to Knipex for any pliers-related tool purchases I need; whether it be for precision electrical & assembly tools or for more general use pliers. So far I have yet to be disappointed except for a pair of pliers I purchased used from amazon with the ‘like new’ rating (to a lay person the pliers did look new, but as best I can tell they either had been used for light duty for some time or something of the sort - they were small, chrome plated, flat angle pliers you’d use to move electronic circuit components around. Chrome plating is very durable so unless used vigorously that wouldn’t show much/any wear. However, the joint was quite dirty and oil deposits had spread & dried/hardened throughout the joint and onto adjacent surfaces. Using a stronger solvent I was able to clean them to a reasonable degree & then re-oiled them. Going for new ones would have saved me the time though, so be ware of the amazon ‘like new’ rating with these guys).A few things have been consistent with Knipex tools, both from my experience and from independent reviews I’ve read: the joints are sufficiently oiled that the tools always operate smoothly when you first get them - enough is used to hold up if the tool is on the shelf for a long time and/or spends an extended period of time at sea in transit.Personally, I don’t like the darker (Machine?) oil used so I clean out new tools and re-lube with a higher quality oil.The quality of the tools is second to none with the joints, especially on pliers, having EXTREMELY tight tolerances. When are-lubing my tools the old oil would be pushed out, and for a bit after it would continue to weep until a final state is reached. If it wasn’t for the oil seeping out I wouldn’t be able to see the pivot point at all (and in many cases the rivet, forget what it’s called, has a wavy shape rather than being round - I assume to prevent it from slipping/spinning. That they are able to manufacture something like this on a mass scale at the given price is really incredible).Personally I prefer the comfort grip, which I think is quite nice. The cutting edges are very sharp and cut very easily with some being able to cut wire that is larger than the tools rating (note: chrome plated tools have excellent corrosion resistance, but the plating is done after the sharpening so they won’t cut or grip as well). The tool heads are the smallest size possible to allow them to be as usable as possible. The actions on the tools are all quite tight and robust. The pliers with gripping surfaces are very very good at doing just that - these pliers as an example have a very useful pointed nose. The edges grip well enough and cover the entire surface of the tip so that the relatively small surface area still provides you with a considerable amount of gripping force. One of the features of this particular plier is that one side of the gripping surface at the tip has a concave profile for the last few teeth - apparently this is to help grip flat surfaces or something of that nature. I honestly am not sure how it would work & haven’t had a chance to test it as such, but that attention to detail is tremendous!Oh and it also has a useful cutout specifically for gripping things like nails which works very well and is extremely useful. All in all these are amazing pliers and were a great buy for the price I paid (~$37).To round it all out I recently accidentally cut some safety wire with an edge cutter. This ended up rolling both edges on the cutter which is pretty standard as I’ve done this with a previous edge cutter. Technically the wire was right at the rated cutting limit for the cutter (1mm steel wire - the specifics of the limits used can be found in their catalogue), but it’s not something you should be cutting with that type of tool.At first I wrote it off as a stupid mistake I made (again), but after a couple days I checked out the specifics of the ratings used by Knipex and found out that the wire was just within the cutter’s specs.I contacted Knipex with some pics of what happened and they were happy to send me a new pair. The representative had also sent them email to a parts manager who ended up suggesting the slightly larger version (0.5”), which I had been considering as a replacement in case I make the same mistake again. They asked for my consent to replace my current tool with the other model as the parts manager thought it would be a better fit for what I was doing. Once I agreed they processed the claim and everything worked out great. Can not recommend this plier, or any other tool from Knipex, highly enough!

Built Like a Tank
If tools were royalty, the KNIPEX Tools Needle-Nose Combination Pliers would be the king of the toolbox! These pliers are the Swiss Army knife of the tool world; sleek enough to wiggle into tight spots, strong enough to grip like an alligator, and precise enough to make a watchmaker jealous. Whether snipping wires, bending metal, or retrieving that elusive screw that always drops just out of reach, these pliers handle it all with royal flair. With a build quality that feels like it could survive a tour in a tank, they’re practically an heirloom. Snap these up—if you value your knuckles and time, they're worth every penny!

Superb
I have a set in a home tool bag & reach for them the most often when ever Im in a grabing, pulling or bending mood. The grips are very comfortable and it provides a nice secure feeling hold no matter what Im grasping. The nose is thin enough to be like a short needle nose so you can grab an object closer to your hand for more control of it like holding a small object to glue, bend, polish, what ever. The cutting edge is nice is sharp for small sized hard wires and I don't see any maring after doing about 2 dozen cuts or so with them on some pretty thin but stout steal wire. These are an awesome addition to anyones bag & you just won't know how ideal they are to use until you own a set.Definitely one of my favorite hand tools.

Great Compact Pliers
I was looking to fill a small rollup bag with compact tools for carrying in the car or on boating trips. I use many of the knipex hand tool line in the electrical field. It is great having that same quality for this handy little bag. Always great quality from Knipex.
