Q: What kind of coolant is used?

Water is the most popular and is the recommended coolant for this 10" Slab saw. We have a few customers that use oil, but water is a lot cleaner to work with.

Q: How large of a cut can be made with a 10” saw

The blade height for the 10" saw is 3-3/4". This measurement is taken starting from the saw table to the top of the saw blade.

Q: Does the water splashes forward or backward?

The blade is turning toward you so the bulk of the water comes towards the front but some will flow around the back of the blade opening. I only put about a half an inch of water up the bottom of the blade but these saws are pretty wet as they are delivered. We built a Plexiglas housing around the cutting platform to help control the splash.
