The previous owners had done some work in the basement and had two areas of concrete patched that, if swept with a broom or rubbed with a bare hand, just disintegrated into sand. We investigated concrete sealers and felt we needed a penetrating sealer, specifically. Of the two patches, one was about 5" wide and the width of a door frame. The other was about 18" square and actually had a deep crack down the centre. No chipping, however. After the first coat of Miracle Sealants 511QT6 511 Impregnator Sealer left overnight, the problem was solved. We put 3 coats in total, 24 hours apart, just to be safe. We only used perhaps half (16 oz) of the 32 oz bottle.
