We wanted to try a gate for upstairs that goes between the stair post and the edge of a doorway so we tried this one. I have to say we are well impressed with the quality and the ease of installation. Installation is easy as you have a template provided for positioning of the holes to drill for the fittings you then screw the fittings in and attach the gate. Took about 10 mins. A massive plus is that you get a second set of fittings so you can unclip the gate and move it to another part of the house if you need to As for the function, it pulls out and retracts smoothly and quietly and once hooked in, you toggle the lock switch and it's stays solid and tight. I was worried that once locked in the screen may sag a little but this isn't the case. I can't reccomend this gate enough, it's way better than the normal gates and it's worth having to drill into walls to install.

I use this to keep my doggos in, when going out the front door, to stop them running out. It is easy to use and easy to put up. It’s very sturdy and has a lock button so even if you lean on it, it doesn’t open further. It keeps my dogs in and safe and isn’t an eyesore.

Really good, works well, easy to install. Only comes with one set of the hooks so this can’t be moved as shown in the product video. It’s not like parts were missing, everything tally’s up with the instructions included.

Very well made, retractable, effortless and secure. The locking mechanism works well and the quality of the product is to a high standard.

I've got 2 boys who have both just started climbing the stairs. Yes I have my hands full! I've had this gate up for 3 days now and it's doing its job keeping them off the stairs! I didnt put it up as the wall needed drilling so had my brother came out and did it for me. It took him about 30 mins. he's a perfectionist. so I would say its pretty easy to install. Ive had lots of different safety gates in my time. My favourite being the folding one. Thought I'd try this as it looked more appealing than my previous folding one and went with my grey colour scheme in the hallway. It's very easy to use but is taking a bit of getting use to when opening and closing it. I'm not sure how long it will last as doesn't seem as sturdy as my previous ones, but that's probably because of the mesh and I'm sure it's just as sturdy.

Bought this gate to go at the bottom of the stairs. It was easy to install, I like the fact that it almost looks like it isn't there and leaves the opening more free than a traditional gate when open. It is lightweight and after having it installed for around 7 months the retracting mechanism works fine still. A couple of negative points however are that the handle is below the top latch which makes it a little awkward to pull across. The design of this also means that one handed operation isn't as easy as you'd think and trying to get the bottom latch on is quite trickey of you have your hands full. We have ended up grabbing the gate horizonatally by the mesh at the top to open and close more easily but this has resulted in the mesh becoming warped and I'm sure one day it would rip. The handle would be better placed along the top of the gate somehow or at least at an outward angle so you can physically get hold of it. Second negative is that the top latch hook has snapped off after only 7 months of use. I can't seem to find replacement fittings for this brand so it's now not fit for purpose unless the manufacturer can supply replacement hooks. I'm looking at an alternative replacement instead however due to the slight inconveniences in design.

Was sceptical about this as it’s probably more of a pet gate, but we bought it as a ground floor stair gate as our first step sits proud of the rest of the staircase which made it impossible to use a clamping gate. The build quality is very good on this, it’s sturdy and strong enough to stop our little one getting through. The additional hooks mean it’s really useful for blocking off different areas if you choose. It’s 100% done the job we bought it to do, would recommend.
