Much easier than the old StarTech devices - and more importantly, the software works. EASY to setup. Originally I tried using Waveshare RS232-to-TCP and while it's a great piece of hardware the software is absolute crap (I spent a day and a half trying to configure Waveshare). Finally I bought the MOXA and I had it setup in about 2 hours. I have one on the Linear gate controller connected via VPN (routed network) and another on a gate controller connected via wireless bridge but a different VPN so still a routed network. They worked great and now a few weeks later they still work great. I've had ZERO problems with the MOXA software and hardware. I have to run the Linear gate controller software on a win7 VM hosted on a w11 pc.

Well-built little module. Engineering specifications are complete and the manual is very detailed and well-written. Using it with Windows, the downloaded application is easy to configure and COM port emulation is flawless. Doesn't even require a reboot. Running it from a central 12 VDC supply; I simply chopped the cable off the supplied wall wart. We're using this in a situation where a recent Win10 update caused trouble with USB FTDI serial port timeouts. It's a critical remote control application where real-time response is important. Moxa saved the day!
