Review: AWESOME GINGER ROOT! - I hope this review gets on desertcart because this is a product worth shouting about. First, I am homebound, I no longer drive and have a disability. My food orders come from Walmart, but with that, you are at the mercy of the person who picks your order, and with ginger root, it has been an awful experience and loss shopping on line. So, I happened on desertcart and I looked up Fresh Ginger Root. I found this one, and spent $10 something a lb. compered to Walmart's $3.56 lb. I ordered this product on February 9th, and it was delivered February 16th. I was concerned about it being a week delivery since this was a fresh item. It was delivered by UPS. The Ginger, 1st image, came in a plastic mail bag, and in side the mail bag the ginger was in a paper bag. I was AMAZED at how this product came in. After washing off excess dirt etc., I peeled it. This was so easy to peel. I saw NO mold, no bruises. My plan for this ginger was to make tea. So in my largest pasta pot, in went the ginger root, brought it to a roaring boil and let it boil simmering for about 20 minutes. Then it was shut off and left on the back burner to cool off keeping the ginger root in the pot. The color of this Ginger is a medium dark golden color, and the taste is out of this world good. It was put into a container then in the fridge but this is not all . The boiled root, normally we throw out, was put into a baggie and put in the freezer, the whole pound of already cooked ginger. I had an idea to put this into a soup. Wanted to see if it would give any flavor. Second image is the soup we made in the crock pot, there are scallions, crushed garlic, whole onions, sweet mini pepper and a Turkey breast Roast. My son took out the pound of frozen ginger root and put it in with the other items in the crock. This was put on high for 4 hours because that is how we make the soup. WELL, the meat was done so my son took it out so he could cut it up, at that time he gave each of us about a tablespoon of the juice and WOWWOW what an exceptional flavor. This ginger root not only made ginger tea, but it still had enough life left to it to be cooked another 4 hours after being frozen. I can not tell you how pleased I am with this purchase. I will be buying from this seller again. If you love ginger root, then I highly recommend this product. What more can I say, I am a happy customer. I see a lot of recipes this item could be used in . Like taking part of the uncooked root and grating it into a cake or muffins. And needless to say how good for you ginger is.

Excellent quality
I realize most people can just go to the store and buy ginger root, but I'm not one of them. The quality of what arrived was impressive. Nice and fresh, very plump, and great tasting! A nice addition to a healthy diet.
It's my first try of this product, but I'm thinking to added to my diet, I love the taste, it's very fresh and you can add to differents recipes. Great for your overall health. Excellent buy.

large and fresh
The ginger is very nice. I keep it on hand for upset stomachs etc. I don't really like ginger but it has its uses. The problem is that I accidentally ordered this. Already had all I needed. Meant to order galangal. So within a couple hours after my order I contacted seller and asked to cancel order. Next morning I noticed it was still on my order. I immediately cancelled it again. A few hours later they shipped. I tried to stop it and was told I couldn't return it. If you like ginger- the roots are great. I finally sliced and put in dehydrator. Because of the order/cancel issue I will not be ordering from them again.

Bought bulk, was fresh and stayed well for more than 4 months. Appearance, taste excellent!! Thick, dry and better value for money than local store Try it!!! You won’t be disappointed

Arrived fresh
I like to buy this in bulk I grate and use it for mixed drinks. I keep a piece in the refrigerator in a Ziploc bag, and I stored the bulk of it in the freezer in a freezer bag when it thaws out it still like it’s perfectly fresh.

Useless!
I've bought this item before and it was large and fresh. The latest order was tiny, shriveled, dry and unuseable. Don't buy. And, this item isn't eligible for return!
