Never fails to work!
Years ago a vet told me to use L-lysine for a kitten I found in a ditch that had really bad crusty eyes and a sneeze and cough. I tried it and it worked! Down the road a bit I found this product and let me tell you that my house always has a bag on hand. If your cat or kitten is suffering with a cough, sneezing and/or crusty eyes, this product WORKS!! Even just recently my adult cat lost her voice and was constantly sneezing,I use dust free litter and knew it wasn’t that and she wasn’t sick but spring was in full bloom so even though she never goes out,I started her on this product. Within 3 days she was better,5 days much better,a week she was back to normal. I kept her on it for a total of 10 days and none of the symptoms came back. I also gave it to my very senior cat back in the winter when she had a nasty upper respiratory problem… she was nasally and wheezing. Same thing… within a week all symptoms were gone. I kept her on it for another 5 days just to be sure. They love the taste and texture of it. It’s sort of chewy and easy to break in smaller pieces, even though it’s already small,in case you like giving them smaller pieces of food. There’s no need to worry about breaking it up if you don’t want to. They ALL love it! I love that it works without an expensive trip to the vet. You won’t be sorry for trying this product!

Healthy "cookies" better than a lifetime of antibiotics!
My cat was born feral and inherited an immune-suppressive disease known as Feline Bartonellosis from his feral mother. He's suffered a number of symptoms, the worst of which required the extraction of 22 of his teeth (we were able to save his canines). Even though the teeth have been extracted, he continued to suffer from occasional lesions in his mouth where the teeth once were, accompanied by depression, loss of appetite, and severe dragon's breath. At first, we put him on antibiotic regimens that would last for six weeks at a time; the lesions would clear up, then a month or two after taking him off the antibiotics, the lesions would return. My vet had also placed him on the Vetri-Lysine Plus as a daily supplement. After a couple years of this, it occurred to me (I used to work for this vet) that the constant regimens of antibiotics may have been serving to weaken his immune system, not to mention creating an eventual immunity to the antibiotics themselves. I discussed this with my vet, and she agreed this was a possibility. I chose to treat him only with the Vetri-Lysine and wait out the lesions to see if they would subside without antibiotics. Lo and behold, four months after this decision, he's had no signs of recurring lesions nor any of the other symptoms of immunity suppression. Since he's had this disease since he was born and my vet and the dental surgeon both agree there is no cure for it, I can only assume the Vetri-Lysine Plus is keeping his immunity stable. I give him two every morning and two every evening. He loves them and has learned to come running when I yell "Cookies!" Even with 22 missing teeth, he has no problem chewing the chewables, as long as I break them in two with my thumbnail. They had become very expensive through the vet, and my vet's office suggested I get them online to save money. Junior and I are both believers in this product and don't miss a day of our "cookie" regimen. I also give him a couple of M & C Breath and Dental Care treats along with the Vetri-Lysine to help clean his remaining teeth. With this disease, gingivitis will always be a problem, but so far this cookie combo is keeping him healthy and happy!

Lysine Price Comparison
Executive summary: This product is twice as expensive as the 6.35 oz Enisyl-F Lysine product for equal doses.I compared the 6.35 oz Enisyl-F Lysine with this product, Vetri-Lysine Plus, 120 chews, 5.29 oz. At the time I bought both, the Enisyl-F Lysine product cost $12.00 and the 120 chews cost $16.81 (free shipping on both). The only way to effectively compare prices is cost per dose. This required counting the number of chews in the Enisyl-F Lysine product: there were ~430 chews in the 6.35 oz package. Since the dosage is 5 chews for 250mg of Lysine, it works out to 86 doses, or 14 cents per dose. With this product containing 120 chews, the dosage is 2 chews for 250mg of Lysine, so 60 doses. That works out to 28 cents per dose - twice as expensive!Having said that, I still like having both products around, but I mainly use the Enisyl-F Lysine since it is half the price. If my cat is having a bad day with his eye weeping, it's easy to also give him a couple of the "120 chews" to boost his dosage. My vet said that 250mg is actually too low for weepy eye problems related to herpes, and recommended at least 500mg per day. He said there was a study that 1000mg per day works even better for eye problems related to herpes, but I feel like that's a bit excessive. So I put a handful of these chews - 5 to 10 - in Yuri's food and maybe boost it with a couple of the other chews as necessary.I only rated this product with 4 stars because I'm not sure how much Lysine is actually helping with weepy eye. It's one of those problems where there are good days and bad days, so it's hard to tell how much it helps. But it seems to be a little better with Lysine, so I keep my cat on it.Update 9/27/2013: My cat Yuri was never diagnosed with herpes via an eye swab test, because they have to put them under and stick a swab under their eye. Instead, the vet tried several different eye ointments with antibiotics and none really worked great, so the conclusion was that he had herpes. He did better on the ointments or gentomycin eyedrops than without them. When the last bottle of eyedrops ran out, my vet said I could also try human eye drops. Even without Lysine, Yuri does just as well or better on human Allergy Relief eye drops, one in the morning and one at night, as he did on antibiotics. A different vet did mention that it could be a blocked or deformed tear duct that made his eyes water, so who knows? But the human eye drops are working great to control his tearing.I also switched from Iams cat food to "Before Grain". I always had to coax Yuri to eat the Iams, but now that he is on BG, he eats great and is much healthier overall. The price for BG on Amazon is about the same as Iams in the grocery store: $2/lb or so. Highly recommended.

It has helped
First off, it has helped my kitter with some sneezing and stuffiness she had. I continue to give them to her because she could use the immune support. With that being said, she agrees with the many other kitters and does not like the flavor and/or texture. They are a bit sticky but the slightest bit tough. Maybe they stick to her teeth. I break it up and put it in a little bit of wet food or gravy. She loves that and looks forward to it every evening.

I love this product.
Peanut Butter was getting sick with an upper respiratory infection every month. After taking two of these everyday he has one very minor flare up every 6-8 months. I break it up into small pieces and put it in with his hard food. For me it is worth the money.

Best treats out there!
As usual Sally our beloved fat ginger feline loves these. Worth the price and has fabulous health benefits especially for cats that are a bit poorly or have a compromised immune system from the latent feline herpes virus.
