It works either way, but I think it makes sense to install it so the door opens up--since gravity will try to bend the connecting hose down.

If your unit fits a standard hose receptical then the Antoble units will work properly. The install is extremely easy to do.

Center to center screws are 3 7/8" apart. Beyond that, not sure what you want as to 'specs'...?

In the 3rd picture, you are looking at the inlet from the back side, so what you see is just the reinforcement design on the back side of the (closed) inlet door. Has zero effect on whether this item will work with your vacuum hose.
