First step was to clean the area to be repaired with alcohol wipes (included with kit). Next, cut the tape to fit the area to be repaired, making sure that the tape would cover the tear PLUS at least a 1” margin around all sides of the tear. Third, I had to peel the backing off the tape. This was by far the hardest step, so make sure you (or someone you know) has fingernails that can manage this part. Finally, the tape is placed over the tear, pressed down and smoothed over to remove any bubbles. And voila! The area is repaired, hardly noticeable thanks to this clear repair tape (more noticeable is the mildew on the cover itself - yikes). Bonus- I have enough tape leftover for future vinyl repairs!!!
