Our probiotics are indeed lyophilized (freeze dried) to preserve shelf life. They are also produced with overages (more probiotic than what is stated on the label) and are produced with hardy, heat-resistant probiotic strains. Our lyophilized probiotics become live again after they are exposed to moisture inside the gut. There is a small amount of moisture present in the air so for the best results close the lid tightly after opening and/or refrigerate after opening the bottle.
