Iberia Spanish Manzanilla Olives Stuffed with Anchovies, 5.25 Oz (Pack of 12)

I bought this just to try them. I was hoping to at least like them since I bought a box of them and to my surprise these are delicious! I take a can, use a chopper and chop them into small bits, add to a large caesar salad and mix. This adds such a nice flavor and texture. Sometimes I take these in a little baggie, and bring them to the restaurant to use in my salads there as well. You have to like to eat anchovies. If you don't like anchovies this might not be your product however that being said, the taste is very mild, the olive is extremely flavorful. If you don't like anchovies these that are chopped up, fit nicely into your salads they really do. Not everybody likes anchovies I do and I found a way to enjoy this all of end it works for our family. The anchovy taste is extremely mild. This product what is also used to make muffaletta and it came out absolutely wonderful. So before you say no to anchovies stuffed olives, give it a try I really like this product it compliments many different dishes I have made and nobody and I mean nobody had any idea they were anchovy stuffed olives. Try I'm pretty sure you gonna like it!

The olives are everyone's favorites. I give cans of these olives as holiday gifts. However, the cans are lightweight aluminum, which is easily dented during shipping. Every can in my last 12-pack had a dent of some sort. Twelve olive cans on a cardboard tray wrapped by a single-layer of plastic and placed inside a roomy Amazon box with NO padding results in dented cans. ALL 12 cans had dents, some so severe that I cannot stack the cans. The olives rate five stars, but bubble wrap or paper needs to be added to the shipping box.

I LOVE olives but after trying pretty much every olive on Amazon, these guys showed up in my suggested feed. I initially gagged at the thought of anchovies, but I do love a good Ceasar dressing - and the only good ones contains anchovy paste. I do not like the smell nor taste of fish in general, so if that is you - no need to fret. Not a single whiff of fish. They are plain ADICTIVE. We went through a single can in 15 minutes, and I was half tempted to pop another. I highly suggest popping a can in the fridge for a few hours before opening. It firms them up significantly and enhances the flavor. (They're still good room temp, but being chilled really elevates the experience) These puppies are now on subscribe and save.

Most of us either love or hate anchovies. I love them. I have had anchovy stuffed olives before, but most are cured and stored in a strong vinegar solution. The Iberia olives in the can are in a mild vinegar salt brine that doesn't hide, but complements, the flavor of the olive and the anchovy paste filling. I bought a can at World Market to try them out, and fell in love with them. I first got them for martinis, but loved the flavor so much I started making the martinis dirty (with a splash of olive brine, for those who don't do martinis). I bought the 12 pack of cans next, and caught myself snitching 2 or 3 olives straight from the can for the taste. This is a 4 out of 5 only because unlike a lot of cans where the olives are packed in, the Iberia can has the olives floating loose. They could have packed a few more olives in, but there is plenty of brine for dirty martinis.

I came across this type of olive in Spain, years ago. I was surprised to find them on Amazon. Really great and not expensive!

At first I was disappointed because I can’t taste any anchovy. But it’s actually the best green olive I’ve eaten. I’ve revised my review because I can’t get enough of these. I still want to find an anchovy stuffed olive that tastes like anchovy but I will continue to buy these because I love them.
