Not the greatest design for brewing.
I guess this would be useful if you just needed to add a single batch of hops just once during the boil. Any more than that and you're faced with the hassle of fishing it out of the wort and unscrewing the lid which will be just shy of 100 degrees. In the end I discarded the lid altogether, drilled through the top of the body and inserted a ring. Now I can tie it to the handle of my boiler, keeping the open mouth clear of the top of the brew, which works much better I've also found that with recipes requiring a really hefty addition of hop pellets, the chamber is too small to hold them all and allow the wort to get to it all.It might be of some use for dry-hopping in the fermenter, but I already have a nylon bag that does that perfectly well.I'm going to have to find another use for this, and buy a proper, decent-sized wide-mouthed spider with a hook to hang it on the side of the boiler.

worked well
I don't use it for beer i use it for my pond as it removes the very small finds out of the water in a easy pod

Well made hop filter
Changed over from cloth hop bag, less trub in kettle due to filter, worth buying, fabrication is of good quality

No more hop bags!
Seems pricey for what it is, but makes adding hops whilst brewing a lot easier. pretty easy to clean with a high pressure water jet as it's very sturdy! Will be a part of my homebrew setup for a long time I think.

Not used for brewing!
Used for a sieve filter in my easy pod pond filter works a treat.

Not new
The one I received had very obviously been used before. It came in a nondescript white box with only some Amazon branded tape over the top, and the item itself had very clear indications of use. The metal mesh was quite shiny at the top, but the bottom 3/4 was noticeably dull with a pretty clear line to suggest it has previously been submerged in liquid. There was staining on some of the metal, and the mesh had some dents. Not particularly happy with what was received.
