I bought one at a "name brands for less" store in what I now think is probably a size S for my 12 lb Chihuahua mix (the size is not marked on the jacket itself), and it's a great little rain jacket - it looks sharp and, with the high neck flap, it does a great job keeping him dry all the way up to his ears. I recently adopted a 9 lb Chihuahua and wanted to get him a matching jacket - the one I have is a bit too big on him. The description (and the product packaging) says that size XS is for dogs 10-18 lbs and size S for dogs 15-25 lbs, so I ordered the XS. I figured if it ended up being the same as the one that I already had, that would be OK, and if it was smaller, it would be perfect - I couldn't imagine it wouldn't fit him at all, but I couldn't even get the neck straps closed around his neck, and it only covered about 2/3 of his back. I've attached a size chart that I found online that gives a much more accurate idea of the sizing. It's also worth noting that the jacket lengths go up in 4" increments - that's a big jump when you're going from XS to S. I think the XS would probably fit a toy in the 5-7 lb range, but would be too big for a tiny teacup. And the size S could work for small dogs up to 25 lbs. But for a 9-10 lb dog, neither is likely to fit very well. I can just barely get away with using the size S on my 9 lb dog because he's got a long body, but it's loose around his chest. The length is perfect for my 12 lb dog, and it fits his chest with the velcro in its tightest position.
