I purchased this bulb to replace a failed bulb in an Elna sewing machine. The old bulb sits at the bottom of a compartment and the length allows you to grip and twist the bulb. It is easily removed. This replacement bulb is considerably shorter than the original. The base is a perfect fit but you can't reach down the hole to guide and twist it into place. With some wriggling I located it into the base but I could not push and twist with my finger. The use of long nosed pliers, combined with the soft surround of the bulb (plastic not glass) allowed me to grip and insert the bulb in seconds. Illumination is great and as the bulb is only sold in pairs, I have a spare ready if needed.In summary, a perfect replacement bulb. Don't panic if it seems too short. Use pliers to insert it and it will be fine.

Beware these are not what we in the UK call pygmy bulbs these are much smaller.Pygmy are B22 bayonet and these are B15.

Replaced bulb from 1989 with this . Cold to touch when on, daylight white light. Fitted into holder ok. Will extend life of my beloved machine by operating cold for long hours in a plastic setting. Energy saving too.

I have been searching for the right size bulb for my lamp for what seems to be like forever. Have had bulbs b4 but they have all stuck out from the shade and almost blinded me. These bulbs are as if they were made for my lamp, I am so chuffed. Thank you

All excellentre warmth brightness etc...but obviously cant answer question about longevity...come back and ask that in a couple of years LOL

Bought to replace an old 15w bulb in the Aumbry light in our local church. Far too bright! However we kept them and cut a strip of neutral density filter to wrap inside the cylindrical frosted glass lamp, which solved the problem.
