Cool sword for the money
Is a nice sword for the money. Came razor sharp and the blade is beautiful . Saya is nice Bag complements it Not very happy with the tsuba as is too simple , but it can be easily replaced for a more fancy one if needed. Rayskin does not seem too real is too regular for being real rayskin. Feels sturdy but not heavy. No hamon as the blade is not clay tempered but you can not expect a real hamon at this price point . Must hamons at this price point are either acid etching or other fake hamon. Unless you are going crazy and preparing for the zombie apocalypses this is a nice sword to have some fun with light cutting and also a nice decorative object.

Great sword
Great quality. Mine was a little wavy as you look down the length - hardly noticeable. I cut myself taking the plastic wrap off. Incredibly sharp. It looks like a lot of work to produce this

Worth. Every. Penny.
So, I just got this sword today when I got home from work. The packaging said "trainning sword", but it is no such thing. This sword is both a work of art and a deadly weapon. I collect weapons and firearms and by far this is the most beautiful and dangerous handcrafted sword I have. It is RAZOR sharp out of the box and it is light but yet balanced. My wife (who's knows little to nothing about weapons) even loves it and appreciates it as a beautiful, yet deadly tool. I would buy from them again any time. They are well worth the wait.

Very solid and well built katana
After much research, I bought this katana because it looks more like an authentic, original samurai sword than many of the more decorative, ceremonial-looking swords on the market. I am pleased - it’s heavy-duty, solid, and well-built. The fittings are tight, and there is no rattling. It arrived on time and it’s adequately sharp. I have fancier katanas, but this is the one I would take into battle.

Beautiful blade for a practical eye.
This was a gift for one of my students whom I recently gave a black belt. Both of us being involved with the participation and running of Medieval Fairs and Japanese martial arts, he truly loved this merge of cultures. Truly a wonderful blade.

Stop searching....
If you want to avoid cheap imitations, this is the one. Understated elegance, no dopey imitations anywhere make this a real value. Some may see the lack of adornments as another plain-jane, I see functionality and practicality as true beauty. Very sharp out of the box, packaged to prevent damage and rust, very nice bag. I'm not easily impressed for this money, so if you are looking for a tough working item, at a decent price point, look no further.

Great item
This sword was a good deal for the price and it's the real deal as well. Not some wall hanger. However, I'm not sure if it's true Damascus steel, either way its full tang and it feels quite light. It even came with a fancy sword bag too. This is probably the best affordable traditional style katana I've ever bought.

9/10 Rating from a forging family Highly recommend as a birthday present, as a display price, for cosplay, or even for self defence! Handmade Damascus Folded Steel Katana Japanese Samurai Sword This Katana is awesome! I recently bought this as a birthday present for my sister in-law. Our family is a forging family so the standards were high. I was looking for a Katana that was • Sharp (Most you buy online aren’t) • A beautiful piece • Good quality - A well forged blade that wasn’t going to break, dent, or fold at the first swing (On a bad quality sword the blade edge can sometimes fold when striking a harder material) I found all these things in this Katana! Pros: Sharpness - Was very impressed with it in so many ways. She tested it on a piece of rope just dangling from a tree and it sliced through it very easy and very clean! Beauty - The blade had the classic beautiful waves in the metal that you get in a Damascus blade. The sheath for the Katana was also very beautiful with the Gold coloured art on the black base. The cover the sword came in was also very nice. Strength - I was weary about how it would hold up but we tested it on an 1/2 inch thick tree branch and to my surprise it sliced clean through with no folds or damage to the blade. I credit this to the way it was forged (forged correctly, Damascus folded blades are very strong). The blade and handle is also one piece which makes it a lot harder for the handle to snap off which can happen on poorly made blades. • Weight - The sword is also a great weight and well balanced. Has a nice feel to it but also light enough to manoeuvre it delicately and precisely Cons: (Nothing major but will show the minor things) • Jamming - When pulling the blade out of the sheath it can be a bit tough to pull out. This is because the sheath is tight around the metal part surrounding the base of the blade. This doesn’t damage the blade at all but can be dangerous as the sword is very sharp and you don’t won’t your hand to slip onto that blade • Oily? - Not sure what it is but the blade seems to get a little oily but we just wipe the blade each time we pull it out and put it away. No real problem Overall a great blade and my forging family was impressed! Was also packed very securely and safely. Highly recommend as a birthday present, as a display price, for cosplay, or even for self defence! 9/10

At $183 (CA), this sounded too good to be true. And common wisdom tells you that when something sounds too good to be true, it's because it probably is. But I figured that at worst, I'd get a basic carbon-steel knock-off, and for the price, it would still look great hanging on the wall (although less of a conversation piece). I was NOT disappointed. What a superb blade. Folded Steel, as advertised... the telltale texture of those 4096 layers along the blade is breathtaking, and has to be seen with your own eyes to fully appreciate. Insanely sharp, and well-balanced. The Saya is gorgeous as well. I'm not impressed with the dressing on the grip (braided nylon ? ). Not very "grippy", and it looks cheap up close. But this is a minor detail, and barely worth mentioning. It's customizable, and re-dressing the grip will be a fun project, and I'll cherish it even more. A real folded steel Katana was something I never thought I'd find in this price range. One happy customer here.

Develop rust on the blade. It was packed very well, and greased up well; it was weird to see. They needed to see photos because it was so hard to believe themselves. It happens. Good communication, quick refund, and I'll be getting a new sword soon. The sword itself: Excellent. Beautiful. Good weight. Sturdy. Balanced. Nice craftsmanship, actually and sharp! 5 FULL stars. Decoration piece for my collection. But I would say this beauty is field ready as is. For the money... best piece on Amazon.

The way they ship it ensures no possibility of it being damaged via shipment. High end and very sharp. Perfect tool for sometime down the road when a guy is definitely going to need to use it in the times we are currently in. Full tang means it is one piece of steel so the handle can not break off. This is a warriors weapon. If you are looking for a "just in case" tool for protection, I suggest you purchase this sword. For the money no company could top this incredible deal! Thanks guys!
