After the drying mode, the screen shows the number 6 and the machine continues to run even after the drying cycle completed. Is this a defect?

Dear customer, If you have chosen the DRY mode, it will provide an extra 60 minutes of hot air drying to the dishes, and in the next 3 days (72 hours), 15-minute automatic ventilation will start every 75 minutes to keep the dishes dry and prevent odors. The screen will show a lowercase "b" which means the machine is in the ventilated storage. Hope this helps.

The drying mode doesn’t really dry the dishes, what can I do to fix this?

I'm not sure. The drying time doesn't really dry my dishes either. I do however, let it run through the dry time, after the wash, and then just open the door, and pull the rack out to finish drying. For me, it's not a big deal to dry them that way.
