Nice net with lots of extensions.

I ordered this net to use this summer with our personal family pool. I love the ultra-fine mesh which will help get all the teeny tiny gnats out of our pool water. The first one that I received had a defect with the handled end of the extension pieces - it was not tapered correctly and would not fully fit in to any of the other extension pieces. I returned the net for a new one and although the second one I received was better, there is still an issue with the taper of that handled end extension piece and it is very, very hard to get into the other pieces to the point where it "clicks." It's definitely a design flaw that needs to be addressed. The net portion itself, however, seem to be very well made and will work well for our needs this summer.

Works Great!

My bad for missing the measurements, but this is smaller than I expected. (See images comparing to my hand.)The aluminum poles seem sturdy, and the mesh is still large enough to do decent filtering. Having an extended mesh sack gives less resistance than a flat filter section since there's more holes for water to escape from. I will be buying a larger one for my pool, but this would be great for smaller pools or hot tubs.

This is a pretty good skimmer and stronger than I thought it would be. I didn’t review it for a little while because I wanted to see if it was strong enough to deal with the way I skim, which is kind of aggressively. I have a pool that’s underneath the tree that needs skimming constantly because it’s just in a bad place. For leaves that is. So I’ve been using this for about a month and it works really well. It has two adjustments one that allows you to do it with a shorter handle and one with a full length handle. It picks up small particles, although it doesn’t pick up particles like pollen. For that I need to use the skimmer that has the insert in it but for regular skimming. I’m using this now. It’s lighter weight, it bends, but doesn’t break. I’ve used it every day for a month. It’s not too big so that’s the big point for me. The other skimmers are so much larger and this one has a pretty small head so just know that when you order it and it’s not very deep so know that as well. Otherwise, I think that it’s a good skimmer for the price and it has two different ways to use it and I think it’s a good one, especially for women who are weaker like I am!

This skimmer is very cheaply made and the extended pole does not fit together as it should. I would not recommend or buy this product. It he net itself is decent but without the pole, it’s pretty useless.

Make sure you read the measurements and do NOT go by the pictures as they show this larger then it is. This is a small, little hand skimmer and it does what it is is supposed to do. It is better for a hot tub then for a pool unless it is a Kiddie-Pool. The shorter handle just screws into the net part but the longer handle comes in 5 parts and these parts are a little hard to stick into one another. The longer handle is 4 foot and the shorter one is one piece and 17 inch. I took a star off as for this price one can get a full size pool skimmer net and not a mini one like this one is.

This is a small skimmer net (not the "regular" size). However, I find it helpful in specific situations. It can help keep your spa clean, and it's lighter and easier to handle versus the regular skimmer net. It will help you get stuff that's almost at arms reach, as the pole is not too long. I like it because my kids like to help clean the pool, and this is the perfect size for them. I don't think it's sturdy enough to last me years, but I give it 2 years tops. Enough to replace it later. I like it.
