🔗 Elevate Your Climbing Game!
The Omega Pacific Rappel Ring is a high-strength, lightweight climbing accessory designed for versatility and reliability. With a strength rating of 20 kN and weighing just 34 gm, it serves as an excellent hardware alternative to traditional bail-out slings, webbing, and cord, all while being proudly made in the USA.

Apocalypse Equipped reviews:
[...]After reading a thorough review by ITS's Jeff More I was inspired to seek some out for myself. There are the Omega Pacific Rappel Rings. These solid forged aluminium rings are really elegant, and fit in the hand very nicely. Apart from having great aesthetics (and a Particular name emblazoned on their sides), the functionality of these is belied by their subtle design. The rings are rated as having a 20kN minimum breaking strength (around 2000kg or 4400lbs).The manufacturer goes to lengths to state they are not intended for repeated lowering, not to be used as a rappel or belay device (e.g. ATC, SBGII, Figure-8 or any other friction device). They state that it is intended solely as a hardware alternative to bail-out slings, webbing and cord, and that advice should be headed. That said, I see the utility of the device as a means to reducing rope-on-rope friction, as an ad-hoc pulley or cinching point. I have yet to use mine as Jeff from ITS has, but I'll be keeping a set in my bug-out-bag as well as a set with my regular climbing kit. Having a set of rings to feed rope through for hoisting and binding, through to use as a rappelling station appeals greatly to me. Now to acquire some tubular webbing and fashion a set of slings!I also have a set I have been keeping in my pocket, if for no other reason that they chime nicely, and have served as a chew-toy for Tactical-Baby up untill this week, when she cut her first tooth. Still, I hope to find a number more uses for these simple, expendable tools.

Hammock Gear
I bought mine for hammock rigging. These are made solid and are sure enough quality pieces, but they are too heavy for my liking. In my opinion there are much better ways to rig up your hammock and I would suggest doing your research on it. As far as use as climbing gear, I ain't got a clue in the world what you'd do with these. My review is based entirely for use in hammock rigging. As such my opinion is they are too heavy and I can't suggest buying them. However, they appear to me to be very well made and a quality product. Lastly, do not try and eat them. While they may have the appearance of a doughnut, they are not a doughnut.

No Complaints
I bought these in hopes that I would speed up my setup time with my Hammock. I watched a few YouTube videos on how to make them work well and for the most part, I was able to tie out and get things up in a reasonable time. It does allow for minor adjustments without the need to retie knots over and over. I also like that it can be undone pretty quick as you settle into camp over the course of the week.I like them and didn't experience any failures.

Durable and perect for hanging a hammock
Having studied the "You-tube" videos and realizing the ease of use and near perfect application in hanging a hammock; I couldn't pass these up. They are made to well beyond the demands of hanging a hammock and will last indefinitely. Working with a carabiner and the tree huggers that Hennessy supplied, my hammock can go up in a matter of minutes. This is a good feature, especially if the ground is wet, or rain is on the way, or it is the end of a long march, dark and all you want to do is hang the hammock and sleep.

Perfect for a friction saver
I bought this to make an arborist friction saver with a 90cm sling and locking carabineer making up the other two components. Works fantastic, this is just the right size to catch the throw bag but it can allow a 1/2"+ rope to be hauled through easily.

Handy trick for hanging bear bags.
I use this as a smooth "pulley" for hanging bear bags while camping. I tied this to a length of parachute cord. The rap ring gives me something heavy to throw over a branch without getting caught on the foliage. I then run another parachute cord – which is tied to my bear bag – through the ring and pull the rap ring up into the tree and tie off the cord. Then, I pull up the other cord attached to my bear bag, and the rap ring makes the ascent smooth and easy. Normally, trying to drag cord with weight attached to it over a tree branch is annoyingly difficult; this makes it easy.

I use a pair of these with a carabiner to support a hammock with a Garda hitch
These rings are well made, have a smooth finish, and appear to have been machined from solid, soda blasted, and then anodized. I have no worries that these rings will fail under the 500lb max static load or 2000lbs max dynamic load that I might subject them to. I bought these on the recommendation of a friend that has been using them to support a hammock as part of a weight-conscious backpacking kit for a few years. So far, I've had great results as well.

Not the best for hammocks
Like many other reviewers I purchased these rings for part of my Hennessy hammock suspension. In my case I was trying to save weight by replacing some steel rings I was already using.Unfortunately, these rings don't work as well as the thinner steel rings I had. Their extra fatness allows some slippage, even with the ropes tied off in front of them. They are light weight, attractive and seem to be very well made, and for all I know they work perfectly for their intended purpose, but since so many reviewers are buying them to use with their hammocks I thought I would share my review from that perspective.

Buen producto
Es un poco más grueso que la que muestra la imagen pero su calidad es genial, para soportar hasta 900kg y un poco más, pues es útil para el fin que le daré.

Nice beefy rappel ring
Better than lightweight rappel rings when rigging a rappel on a popular route
