WOW! Not all grain beverages are created equal. This one is top of the line!
This is a fine powder, much like mushroom coffee. It costs about the same as the Roma coffee substitute that I've used in the past. Roma is a combination of barley and chicory. I also use Teecino, which is chicory, but in my opinion, chicory has a distinct flavor and leaves a bit of an aftertaste so I began looking for something that had no chicory in it.What makes this barley beverage so good is the way it's roasted. I opened the bag and it reminded me of freshly brewed coffee! The flavor was just as impressive as the aroma! It has much more of a coffee-like taste to it.I'm thrilled! Rght now, I made it a bit weaker and mixed in a scoop of my favorite mushroom coffee, a bit of raw sugar and vegan cream (sometimes real cream!) and I'm a happy writer!!!!!!

First perfect coffee substitute!
I LOVE COFFEE! I love the taste. I love the full body of a good coffee. Never found a substitute that came close......possibly until now. I just finished my first cup of Orzo Buono and I think I have struck gold. It was absolutely delicious. It really was like having a good cup of coffee.Granted I drank it mid afternoon, which I would not do with high octane coffee, but I am really impressed. I may do a 50/50 blend with coffee for a bit but I'm hopeful Orzo Buono will be come a good habit. If you are looking for a good coffee substitute don't hesitate. This is worth trying.

healthy caffeine replacement
Please, get it, get it!I was never a caffeine addicted, but I’d drink coffe whenever I was feeling like having a hot drink, capsule coffee... something quick and terrible. I’d always feel funny right after drinking coffee. So I started looking for a for a healthy replacement and I found out about Barley coffee and it’s benefits, so I wanted to give it a try. When I first got this product it tasted very light, as I was still used to the caffeine flavor.I kept drinking it, and nowadays when I’m running low on my barley coffee and actually need to drink caffeine it tastes really weird.I love this product specially because it’s organic, the taste is very smooth I usually warm up my water on the stove and add 3 spoons of barley coffe + cinnamon powder (to give that special taste) it’s part of my breakfast every morning.I love it! It’s hard to describe, just give it a try! Leave that caffeine ish alone lolBarley coffee is the real deal

Nice, but not as good as Pero
The taste is just fine (I drink with a bit of Stevia and milk), but in the end I prefer Pero -- it has a smoother taste to me.

A great alternative
I'm off coffee because of bladder issues. But I discovered orzo on a recent trip to Italy where a "Caffè di Orzo" is available in most every "bar". It works for me! A great alternative to herbal tea.

Since I can’t drink coffee, I drink this Organic Soluable Barley in place of coffee. I drink it black as I would coffee and you can make it to the strength you desire. I use 2 heaping tbls to a mug of boiling water. It’s strong and tastes very similar to espresso. I love it.

Happy
I take one of the mushroom superfood supplements every day and was putting it in coffee or cocoa to obliterate the taste. When my digestive system went all touchy and it seemed best to stop coffee and chocolate for a while, I couldn't find a brand-name coffee substitute that suited me (carob is a problem for me). Luckily, I found this. I mix it with the mushroom stuff, a small amount of roasted chicory, a tiny bit of honey - mesquite honey is great with it - and sometimes a teaspoon of coconut cream. For me it's perfect. My husband doesn't care for it - he doesn't like coffee or black tea, either - so yay, it's all mine! I'm extra happy that it's certified organic, because I prefer that, especially for grain products.
