After being inundated with flies I was getting tired of using the old rolled newspaper technique, and really who has time for that. I'm trying to avoid chemicals, with children and pets around. I knew of the sticky spirals that hang from the ceiling and searching for those lead me to these. I shopped around, there are cheaper but I went for the Rentokil brand first to see what quality I should expect. The two packets I ordered were different, but inside the sealed cardboard packet the product was the same and had the Rentokil logo. Four sunflower stickers in each packet, I have to say, looking at them a felt a bit cheated. However, the application was easy and self explanatory. Each sticker is marked so that you remove one side of the protective paper, stick it to the window and then remove the paper on the really sticky side. It looks like I've gone for a fake stain glass effect, and because I've put them near the tops of the windows where the flies hang out they are very obvious. However, 3 days later and I have caught ten flies between the 4 flowers, one I might add managed to escape the sticky, but was caught again later that day. All things considered this seems to be the least offensive, cleanest, chemical free way to catch flies. I think they last a month, but by then I expect they will look a bit awful. It would be good if there was a way to remove the caught flies without resorting to tweezers! I will buy more, based on convenience.

I bought a few of these. We have a lot of flies here, and after about two weeks they have caught about a dozen flies. They don't seem to work on windows that are open, but are quite effective if the window is closed!!

Yes these worked. They were easy to apply to windows - didn't look that unsightly and are not themselves toxic. I also removed one after some time and no sticky marks were left on the window. However, they trap the flies by sticking them to the window sticker and then holding them there until they die. Therefore, after catching one or two you have a dead-fly graveyard stuck on display which doesn't look great!! Also - I found it a bit disturbing that I could hear a fly buzzing for couple of hours before he actually died - this felt unnecessary and cruel - I contemplated trying to help him to get free but the sticky hold was too much - I would purchase again but they are expensive considering you need to remove them once a couple of flies are caught.
