🛫 Fly fearless, even indoors — guard your skies in style!
The DJI Mavic 3 Pro Propeller Guard is a precision-engineered accessory weighing just 188g, expanding the drone’s width to 710mm for superior protection in confined spaces. Its interlocking design enhances rigidity while maintaining obstacle avoidance sensor visibility, enabling safer indoor and low-light flights. Though it slightly reduces flight time by 10-15%, it offers peace of mind for professional pilots navigating tight environments.

They do the job, but the clip to fix them to the drone requires quite a lot of force, dreading how many on/off processes it will endure before it breaks.

These guards are very useful if you have to fly the Mavic 4 Pro indoors or in tight spaces. First thing to note - they are massive! With the guards fitted, the Mavic 4 Pro is 710mm wide and 620mm long (approx. 28" x 24½")! The first picture shows a Mini 2 SE alongside for scale. The guards are each marked to denote which arm they attach to: LB=left back LF=left front RB=right back RF=right front I found attaching and removing the guards took a bit of practice and it seems easier to fit the front ones before the back ones. Once they're locked, they stay securely in place while the front and rear guards attach together to further increase rigidity. Holes in the back guards enable the strobes under the motors to remain visible which will be good for night flights and dark rooms! Unfortunately, I did find a problem with the left back guard because it wouldn't lock around the drone arm at first. The locking part of the guard seems to have been moulded slightly out of spec but a few minutes light Dremelling fixed the problem and the guard now attaches and locks fine. Not worth returning over but definitely loses a star. Probably an early batch issue. If the drone is sitting on a flat surface, the back guards measure 135mm (5 5/16") tall and the front guards are 88mm (3½"). The guards provide enough lateral protection to make flying near walls or pillars a lot less scary but vertical protection isn't quite as good. While the propellers are unlikely to strike a downward facing surface like a ceiling, two of the drone's top-most obstacle avoidance sensors sit just proud of the guards so they could come into contact. Obstacle avoidance itself seems to work fine with the guards on, but it will likely need to be switched off for the drone to move in anything smaller than a warehouse. Did I say the guards are big?! DJI's claim of 188g for the guards is accurate. I measured the total takeoff mass increase from 1.06kg to 1.25kg. Flight time seems to be reduced by 10-15% when mostly hovering with very slow manoeuvres. I probably won't use these guards every day, but having the option to fly the Mavic 4 Pro in confined spaces now is very welcome. Recommended.
