I've only tried one of these, but I'm reluctant to do it again because it didn't give me an energy or focus boost, but I do feel shaky. I had this a few hours into my day. Had my normal 1 small cup of coffee in the morning and had this in the afternoon. I followed instructions to place between gum and lip. The experience was not unpleasant. I had the lemon cherry flavor. It was a light taste. I left it in for an hour, and I could feel it releasing. When I took it out, it was just an empty packet.I didn't get an energy boost from it, but did get shaky. I'm not rating this super low because I've never had great experiences with isolated caffeine products before and I don't think it's a fault of the product, which was good quality as far as I could tell. I felt hopeful about this one because of the method of administration and the addition of l-theanine, which promotes relaxation and I thought might help prevent side effects.Unfortunately, I didn't care for this, but if you've had good experiences with caffeine supplement products before, the taste was fine and unobtrusive, and I think this probably would offer a positive experience over, say, caffeine mints, which leave something to be desired in terms of taste. I didn't notice a smell to these like products I've used in the past, but my sense of smell is not sensitive, so I may not be the best judge of that.
