Discipline Desired (Domestic Discipline) Paperback – April 23, 2015

Lisa has been married to john for 20 years. Lately they fight over every little thing and she knows a lot of it is her fault but she can't seem to control her behavior. She would take out all her anger from the workplace on him when she got home. She knows something needs to change and she been researching the web looking for answers. She has been considering asking John to consider adding domestic discipline to their marriage. So she joins a DD chat room to learn more about how the DD dynamic works in relationships. There is a lot of chatting that goes on in the story. She learns what is meant by (TIH) & (HOH) and all sorts of other DD specific terms. She finally broaches the subject and he's all for it. He takes to DD like a fish to water and is consistent from the get go. They struggle as they adjust to their roles as members of the DD community.

Just to let you know way too much chatting in this book with others online. Do they even have chat rooms anymore? I got so I just skipped over them. More of what characters are doing and less of the chat rooms! Way less!!

This is one of the best written books on DD that I have ever read. Wonderful plot with characters that are dealing with real life the best way for them.

Interesting

I regret what I might have missed by skipping most of the chat room conversations, but I couldn't handle reading any of that, because there was no chance of any domestic interaction. Every other chapter was fully a chat room conversation. There was no mention of the friend for so long that I worried she was gone entirely and that her marriage wouldn't be saved. It is still unknown if the friend and friend's husband will do DD.

I appreciated the book because it gave a very good inside within a couple who introduces domestic discipline to reconnect and control the wife's shifting moods. The wife will also make us part of her discovery of a DD community and how like minded people can provide support for their growth as submissive or dominant.

The basic premise: a loving couple has been drfting further and further apart. Quite by accident she stumbles upon a Domestic Discipline chatroom and is intrigued. After some lurking and questioning, she approached her husband and the story really begins. Cleverly written switching between the chatroom and their lives we see love bloom again as well as their humor and respect for each other. Great cast of characters, a few unique twists and turns, lots of sizzle. All together very satisfying.

A fine story of Domestic Discipline with a happy ending for all. A really fine, feel-good book for devotees of this kind of fiction.

I began this having just read a most unsatisfactory book about domestic discipline so had little hope it would be any good. I was pleasantly surprised. This was the account of the rapidly failing marriage of Lisa and John. John took the role of managing the home and children while Lisa pursued her career. Now their children are at university, Lisa is very stressed by her job and John is rapidly getting fed up with her unpleasant attitude and the lack of any intimacy between them. It is Lisa who begins to explore domestic discipline. She reads all she can and joins a chat room. Then she takes a day off work and sends John an email with her proposal. From then on the story is about the out working of their DD agreement. Friends and family notice the change as the couple move deeper into such a relationship. I felt that about the mid point of the book the story lost its way a bit. Perhaps the author would have been best to make it much shorter. As it was there had to be things to keep the story going. The arrival of the friend Debbie whose marriage is also failing added several little stories none of which were essential to the main story. The involvement of their adult children was another dimension which I also felt added very little. The device of recording the chat room conversations worked when Lisa was exploring DD and in the early stages but after a while it became tiresome. I found the characters of Lisa and John believable and well drawn. Feminists and the politically correct may disagree but that is patronising. It assumes that a woman cannot have such desires and that is patently untrue and demeans women. Debbie I found to be less convincing and I found her irritating. I did hope that John would spank her but of course he didn't... nasty old me. I also didn't find the student children very convincing at all. Having had student children I simply couldn't credit some of the exchanges. For me the best other character was the 10 year old niece who catches John spanking Lisa. The resulting scenes were priceless. I shall read the other books in the series I think.
