Good value for money
Considering the price, I was sceptical they would last long. But they have surprised me, and they are working well in a RAID 5 array in my server.

Worked OK
Used to copy and transfer files. Drive dated Aug 2017 which was a bit of concern but worked OK.

The product is now installed and has been working fine for nearly a week
I ordered this hard drive to replace the original 320Gb Seagate hard drive inside my Humax Foxsat-HDR Freesat+ recorder. The product is now installed and has been working fine for nearly a week. However, I initially experienced problems with the installation, which I now realise to have been due to the need to place a 'jumper' over pins 5 and 6. I didn't know about this requirement when I first installed it though. It seemed to be working fine for a couple of days but then a fault developed - when I switched the Foxsat-HDR on, it would fail to recognise the new internal hard drive and no recording was possible, nor could I get access to my stored TV programme recordings. I would then switch the machine off and then on again and usually it would then recognise the drive, but then fail to recognise it the next time again. As a result, I had to uninstall the new hard drive and I sought advice about the cause of the problem, which eventually led to me going to a local computer repair shop and obtaining a jumper. I admit I didn't know anything about jumpers up to this point. I also managed to somehow place the jumper on the wrong two pins (because I wasn't quite sure which way was up and which way was down in order to recognise which were the correct pins to place the jumper on!). This meant that after I reinstalled the new drive, the fault was still there. However, I eventually uninstalled it again and placed the jumper on the correct two pins and then reinstalled it and I'm glad to say that it now appears to be working fine. Hopefully by posting this message, others will save themselves an awful lot of time and hassle by checking beforehand whether or not they also need to obtain a jumper and place it on particular pins for whatever they intend to use it for. I don't know whether or not the jumper usually needs to be fitted, but I know it was definitely needed in order for it to work correctly in the Humax Foxsat-HDR, something to do with the 6Gb/sec speed of the drive, I understand. It would have been quite useful if a jumper was included as standard with the product at the time of purchase, along with some written information.

terrible after sales warranty issues
I purchased this hard drive for my personal home cctv recorder on the 7 th october 2024 . It worked ok until the end of november ,then started to get issues like corrupt files and some times intermittent working .I tried switching off my dvr but still not recognising the hard drive on the dvr menu . Although it was out the amazon 30 day returns window ,i decided to contact amazon to see if their supplier had a longer warranty .Instead of phoning them ,i went through the amazon website . The instructions were to contact the manufacturer wd ! On finally getting through to wd ,they asked me to give them the serial number ,so they can identify the product .I was aghast to find out that the hard drive was over three years old ,so he told me to get back in touch with amazon to see who supplied them with it .I managed to find out the supplier and managed to phone them .They were called Artio international who supply amazon various products including recycled hard drives ! I spoke to their rep who asked me to send it direct to them and they will replace it or fix it ,which i was happy to do ! At my cost ,i sent it registered post ,expecting a quick return .So here i am 6 weeks down the line ,without a hard drive and more important ,no cctv at my home . I ve just lodged my complain to amazon direct and good old amazon have refunded me the cost .But artio international have to take responsibility for this ,so i will not be purchasing any more of their products (and i buy probably 50 a year through my business ) So please beware amazon customers and stay away from artio supplied hard drives

I purchased 2 drives and I am very pleased with them.I needed to format them, so that windows could configure them correctlyfor use. They are very quite, and the transfer speed is better than I expected. If you are looking for that extra storage these are just the job.I would happily recommend them to others
