Men's Experience Wild 2

I think I've run in every major brand. I can say these are a great shoe for a casual runner or someone looking for a wide toe-box daily shoe. Altra has always been an odd shoe for me. When they fit, I usually like them, but their fit has always been weird and inconsistent across models. This shoe is true to size and it's raised heel will make it an easier shoe for someone coming from "normal" running shoes. Another weakness with Altra has been it's heel cup and this is an improvement, but still not great. I find myself lacing the extra eyes, to pull my heel back into the shoe. I haven't taken this out in the rain a lot, but compared to the Brooks these replaced, the grip is far better and these do great in loose soft soil and scrambling granite cliffs around my place. The only negative, I have found is they are showing a lot of wear in the reinforcement areas around the toe box. These shoes have lived a pretty pampered life, compared to other shoes and I'm a little disappointed to see this. I will update this in the winter once I few a more miles and I've strapped ice cleats to them.

I've had the Altra Fwd Via and really liked them. I have a trail 50k coming up so I picked up the Experience Wild 2. I've been out on the trails with them a couple of times now and I'm loving these shoes. Great fit and comfort along with good stability and traction on the trails. I'd definitely recommend to others - particularly if you're a fan of Altra shoes.

I have a number of foot and ankle problems that had been making it painful for me to even walk for more than 15-20 minutes. Over the years I've spent a few thousand dollars going to podiatrists, had custom made orthotics, tried the good feet store, but none of these things helped more than a little. Eventually I tried barefoot shaped shoes, and got whitins (zero drop, barefoot shape, some with and some without cushioning). Those helped a ton, reducing blisters, helping with metatarsalgia pain, reducing pain in my big toes, and helping with pain on the inside of my ankles. However, I still would get pain on the outside of my ankles on longer walks. Things were improved enough that I accepted it for a few years. Recently, I decided I wanted something even better. I was recommended these. They still have the barefoot shape, but I was told the extra cushioning, slight heel drop, slight rocker, and slight additional support would help with my ankle. And so far, these have been amazing. It has only been a month, and I haven't pushed things too far, but my feet and ankles have less pain than I've experienced in years. I'm building up and may try a multi-hour hike soon, something I haven't done in more than a decade.

I've been running in the Lone Peaks since the very first version, and recently got a pair of the Timp 5 for some extra cushioning. Love both shoes, and prefer zero drop, but a current foot issue has me trying different things while i get it treated. I decide to give the Wild 2 a try to see if the small heel drop made any difference to my foot soreness. The jury is still out on that as i have only used them a couple of times, but I find them to be a very comfortable shoe, with good traction and a snug fit. I don't really notice the 4mm drop while running, and although the toe box seems a little small from top to bottom (similar to the Timp), they feel good during the run. My only minor quibble and reason for deducting one star is that I find the ankle collars a bit high- they rub my ankle bone a bit. Not enough to cause an issue or stop wearing the shoe, but enough that it is a bit uncomfortable. Perhaps that will diminish as the shoes get broken in, but I think Altra should consider making the collar a bit lower for future versions of the shoe.

Love these great trail runners, good grip & good padding. Seems to hold up, have used for 1 year & no wear or tear issues. Not like ON….ON = super bouncy & great for about 3 months! Altra seems good for the long term! Rocks!!!!

I spent $140 on these shoes and on my third run, first trail run the fabric on the outside front of the shoe ripped. Too late to return and no response from Altra with my requests for assistance. I’d leave no stars if I could.

Great running shoes. The size is larger than usual

履いていて脱げたりしない為に必要なのでしょうが、かかとの内側にパッドのような膨らみがあり、サッと脱ぎたい場合は引っかかります。長時間履き続ける時には良いかと。

Nach dem ersten Einsatz kann ich mitteilen, dass ich den Schuh sehr gerne trage. Hoher Laufkomfort und guter Sitz. Im Vergleich zum Altra Lone Peak 9 ist die Dämpfung noch stärker ebenso wie die leichte Sprengung / Neigung des Fußes. Ich komme sehr gut damit zurecht. Gerne wieder.

Die Schuhe schauen nicht nur optisch super aus, sondern sind auch super bequem. Man geht wie auf Wolken. War jetzt schon ein paar mal damit unterwegs und ich bin absolut zufrieden.

Schnelle Lieferung. Toller Schuh wie von Altra gewohnt. Ich habe schon ein Paar Laufschuhe von Altra, von daher kenne ich die Paßform und das Gefühl mit diesen Schuhen zu laufen. Bis jetzt 2 mal gelaufen, ich kann nichts schlechtes berichten.
