So, no, I wouldn't use it for that. I think algae in a bird bath is inevitable since they get so much sunlight. A good scrub once a week would be your best bet. **Q: Will algaefix harm the silicone decorations in my tank? do i have to remove these decorations in order to use this product correctly?** A: API Algaefix can be used with the silicone decorations within the aquarium without adverse effects. **Q: Any one know if this will kill your bio filters?** A: not sure on the bio filters, but it killed half our fish. **Q: I have 6 gallon aqueon Ascent frameless tank. How many drops do you put in tank to control algae problem.** A: Don't do it. It killed every fish in my tank, I had to change out EVERYTHING and start from scratch. New substrate, airstone, any decoration, all plants, I mean EVERYTHING.
