My opinion is absolutely yes. I am 65, decently computer literate for over 20 years. If my current laptop fails, Lenovo idea pad 330s, it will not be replaced and will utilize this chrome book due to its capabilities. The only recommendation to improve is to not rely on the units finger control mouse pad (behaves rather sluggish) and purchase a wireless roller ball mouse (I use Logi brand M570). Hope this helps.

Can this run android apps?

I bought this from other seller. It can run android apps, but not all(because it's x64-CPU-based CPU. Zoom or educational apps/sites runs OK. For running all Android apps, consider Android tablet or at least touch enabled version of Chromebook.
