Ancient Death was formed in the summer of 2019 in Walpole, MA by Jasmine Alexander (bass and vocals), Ray Brouwer (guitar), and Jerry Witunsky (guitar and vocals), soon followed by Derek Malone Moniz (drums). Blending progressive and technical death metal with cosmic and lushful atmospheres, ient Death creates A unique soundscape of introspection and growth. With the release of the Sacred Vessel EP in 2022, the split single "Glowing Auras" in 2023, followed by Demo 2024, the band has continued to expand and push the envelope of honesty and vulnerability. Ein schönes Albumcover verspricht old school death Metal, aber der weites gehenden melodischer Art. Es ist zwar old school, aber nicht in der Zeit stehen geblieben, man hört auf dem Album vier sehr gute Musiker, die ihre Instrumente beherrschen und eine Sängerin in ein paar parts, die mich an alte Anathema erinnerten. Einige blast beats Ausbrüche, einige dissonante ruhige parts, solide bis sehr ansprechende hymnische Einsprengsel, die Musiker haben sich wirklich viel Gedanken gemacht und ein sehr gutes konzipierte Death Metalalbum kreiert, das für mich aus der Masse der Bands heraussticht, mit einem guten, organischen sound und einem tollen mix.
