Graphtech Guitar Saddle (PQL-6061-00)

This nut is an exact fit on my Epiphone acoustic guitars. The string spacing is spot on and nut slot depth was too. All I had to do was sand the bottom. I'm glad Graph Tech finally has the XL nut available in the ivory colored nut. No tuning issues and adds great sustain. No need for nut lubricants anymore. I installed this in my 2012 regular epiphone hummingbird that replaced the original plastic nut. I also installed this on my 2023 Epiphone Hummingbird (IBG) to replace the factory bone nut (string saving was exact) cause I just prefer the tusq sound. Also, the nut slots did not need any filing, only sanding the nut bottom for the IBG Hummingbird. As all graph tech products I have purchase is of very high quality and easy to work with and is very clean looking.

Improved tone, easy to install. Just need a little sanding to fit perfectly into an Epiphone ES-335. Huge difference in tone compared to the original nut.

Installed this product yesterday and could not be happier with it. I didn’t need to adjust it much at all. sides are maybe half mm wide, but In fact the fit is so good I didn’t bother. didnt even glue it in. fits snug. Easiest upgrade ever... easier than the black tusq saddles and grover rotomatics I also installed. picture was of a white Tusq nut. wasnt sure which would ship so i took a chance. I actually like the black nut.Update, ordered another and it came in white....best of both worlds.

I added this nut to my Epiphone Casino in Worn Denim, as an upgrade to the original. It works and plays great, but it did require some fitting. I sanded it carefully on both sides, and the bottom until it was the exact size as the original, and It took me a fair bit of time to get it right. If modifications aren’t your thing, and you’re not sure you can fit this properly, don’t try it—take it to a luthier instead.

It brought my newer Epi LP Studio to life ! It is like a miracle how it will bring your guitar to life. It almost sounds like an acoustic when its unplugged. Brings out the harmonics an sustain. Its almost a drop in for newer Epi. You just need to sand off the bottom. I used the old nut an feeler gauges to judge the height. Just go slow and slip in an tune up. Trial an error till you get your height. Just remember you can take off more but you can't add on. It barely needs any sanding on the ends. Its just slightly long but not enough to notice. The width was about the same as stock nut. Even the stock tuners will hold tune with this nut. I highly recommend for Epiphone's

As is always the case with a nut, I had to spend a little time getting it to fit the nut slot well. Not because of the nut but because of the neck. I spent about an hour dialing it in with my nut files and some sand paper. Sounds really crisp and brite now. I normally prefer bone but in this instance Tusq XL wins. I bought the 6061 version for the extra height so I could make sure the nut bed was level and all of the previous glue was gone which was accomplished with a nut bed file. The Tusq material was very consistent and easy to work with.

GraphTech nuts are great. Accurately made, permanently lubricated, properly cut. Their product support is also outstanding. Add to that that they are reasonable priced and it's the clear winner.There are other GraphTech nuts that will show up in a search and appear to be popular for Epiphone... and they may not fit. Go to the GraphTech web site and look at the catalog. They have detailed measurements including string spacing (Low-E to High-E). Get your digital caliper out and you can find one that matches. Then come back here and order it by number. GraphTech gets the sale either way, so everyone is happy.Don't worry too much about a few thousandths of extra length or a little extra width. You can sand that off. It's the string-to-string spacing that really matters. You WILL need to sand the bottom of the nut to get the height correct. You may need to tweak the width and length a little. Don't buy a nut if you aren't up for watching some videos, reading, sanding, and learning proper nut setup. Sand, fit, test, repeat. Go slow, you got this.
