It's an ecobee, works great
It works just like the other 3 Ecobee 3s I have... which is pretty fantastic. Setup is easy, reliability is good. This was my first time needing to use the included PEK (Power Extender Kit), and it worked just fine and is doing what it's supposed to do.My only complaint is that the minimum set point is 45F, which seems great until you put it in an uninsulated outbuilding in the Pacific Northwest, where winter temps typically hover around 40F. I want it to keep things from freezing, but 98% of the time don't care about keeping the building any warmer than about 35-38F, and I certainly don't want the furnace running all the time for the extra 5 degrees. Fortunately there's a workaround available of setting the temp offset, downside being that the displayed temperature is also off.So, now I have a 7F offset and a set point of 45F, keeping the building right around an actual temp of 38F. It works, but I still hope they add an advanced option for more flexibility on the set points in a future firmware release.

Better than nest by far, but some easy fixes would make it much better
This is a great unit. I do think they need to provide mountain plates that addresses some of the older designs and/or provide a way to flip the display on a square device you would think rotating the display 90 degrees wouldn't be that difficult. It would be nice if it had a setting to accommodate direct sunlight. I know they have satelitte devices you can buy but that basic feature would be nice to have.

Does more than you need!
This thermostat works perfectly! It's great for temp control, and there are a bunch of little bells-and-whistles to it. Looks nice on the wall too!

Solid product, unclear description
The ecobee3 Lite works great and I’m happy with its performance, but I’m giving 4 stars because the product listing is misleading. It says the thermostat uses “its sensors and your phone’s location to automatically lower the temperature when nobody is home,” but the ecobee3 Lite doesn’t come with occupancy sensors, and doesn’t support location-based automation on iPhone without an additional Apple HomeKit hub. I had to purchase SmartSensors separately. I already suggested this to support so future buyers don’t face the same confusion. Please update the listing to reflect the product more accurately.

Ecobee Lite = cheap. Developer API disabled.
Nowhere in the name and description of this amazon item does it say "Ecobee Lite" but apparently this is a "lite" version. Even though it says pro, that doesn't mean anything except an extended warranty.Apparently, this model has been replaced by ecobee essential and is decomissioned.I regret this purchase as the device feels a bit cheap. A square can be clearly seen around the device interior and the plastic around it. It doesn't look as nice as the picture shows. Functionally - it will still work as intended.I purchased this to integrate with Home Assistant. Ecobee has shut down their developer account creation for the last year or so and you can no longer get an API key and can no longer set it up that way and are required to use the homekit approach which may have limited functionality.I wish I knew these things before I purchased the device.

No Golden State Rebate
Pricing was great. Bought it, but later realized that the $75 Golden State Rebate applies only if bought at certain retailers, and Amazon isn't one of them. Returned the unit back today for no fault of the vendor or the item.I have two of the same item deployed in my house for a few years, and they work flawlessly with remote sensors. Wanted to replace my third conventional thermostat too so that all three could be observed on Ecobee's website. Two issues:1) The battery life on the remote sensors is short (1st generation sensors).2) The trend view on Ecobee's web portal (Home IQ > System Monitor > System) isn't optimal. Cannot zoom out beyond a 24-hour period.
