ALR Screen for Ultra Short Throw Projector, 100 inch

This screen exceeded my expectations in every way. The setup was straightforward (took about an hour), and the frame feels solid and premium. The biggest surprise was the picture quality – the contrast and black levels are noticeably better, even in a room with moderate ambient light. It truly brings out the best in my Hisense l9g projector, delivering sharp, vibrant images that pop even during the day. The light rejection technology really works! Also, I appreciate how well the tensioning system works — the screen surface is perfectly flat, with no waves or wrinkles. The build quality is excellent for the price, and it feels like a premium product. Highly recommend!

The screen itself works great. The frame and springs are OK, but the instructions really should tell you that you need to flip it over as you go to make sure you aren't getting any wrinkles in the corners. I got the whole built except the outer frame then when I flipped it over there were wrinkles in two of the corners. I could have started over, but then you run the risk of another problem, so I just left them since I always leave a little black border for appearances. On the whole though this was a big improvement over my standard movie screen. Much better with window daylight coming into the room and picture is perfectly flat. Also, at night especially the color and clarity really pop compared to the old screen. It was worth the money ans trouble.

We are a custom AV installation company with 30 years experience. We had the opportunity to spec and install this 120" ALR screen from NothingProjector this week. The install went very well. The aluminum frame for this screen is the best quality I have seen yet. We sell competitive screens from Draper, Dalite, SI and Dragonfly. The setup is super easy. (Two people makes it simple) Great quality for the screen material, awesome ambient light control. Projected image looks the same room lights on or off. The wall mounting brackets are a breeze with spring loaded releases. I will attach photos of the screen and a custom UST projector cabinet we built for a high end client.

Overall the screen looks great. The setup took some time but process is straightforward. The frame is made of good quality metal and feels sturdy. As an ALR screen it does the job well and rejects most ambient light. I use it with my XGIMI UST projector and the image looks clear and crisp on the screen.

Overall, I’m happy with this projector screen. It was pretty easy to put together, and I really appreciated that they included extra parts. That gave me some peace of mind during assembly. The instructions worked, but they were a bit too simple. I wish they explained things a little more clearly, especially since getting some of the brackets and parts lined up just right took some trial and error. It wasn’t impossible, just a little finicky at times. The included gloves were very small and not great quality, but they were usable and did the job. On the positive side, I really like the cloth to set the screen on and the overall quality of the parts. Everything feels solid once it’s assembled. With slightly better instructions and easier-to-adjust hardware, this would easily be a 5-star product. This screen looks great, better than I expected and is at a fair price as well! I’m glad I got it.

Very disappointing, did not roll up , nothing worked, returning

I’m extremely satisfied with both the product and, especially, the outstanding customer support I received from Nothing Projector. My initial 100-inch ALR ultra-short-throw projector screen had some issues with fitting onto the mounting bracket. I contacted the Nothing Projector team, and I was genuinely impressed by how quickly, professionally, and thoughtfully they handled the situation. Their team listened to my concerns, followed up promptly, and went above and beyond to make sure I was completely satisfied. As a solution, they kindly sent me a brand-new replacement screen at no additional cost. The new screen fits perfectly on the bracket, and the picture quality is excellent. The original UST projector I was going to use this with was defective, so I had to wait until I got a new one to install the screen The biggest takeaways are that it makes an incredible difference from a standard screen or blank wall, and you really want to have 2 people (or more) to do the installation - Only 4 anchors and screws, designed for the upper supports only. There was no mounting hardware for the lower supports - Screws are too big for the drywall anchors. I used the anchors and my own screws for one side where I didn't have a stud, and then the longer provided screws on the other side by themselves where I had a stud - Screws only fit in the upper supports, unless you insert them diagonally in the bottom supports before screwing in the support, alternating between the two screws (hard to explain) - The corners are extremely sharp and the last rail takes some force, so be careful and wear gloves! I definitely inflicted some damage to my thumb - The corners were also the hardest to tension. My bottom two corners aren't completely covered by the frame, and all corners are wrinkled. I will have to take the screen down (carefully) and get some help if I want to try and adjust the tension more - While I was stubborn and managed it, I DO NOT recommend building this alone. It took me 5-6 hours for what is probably a 90 minute job - It will go much quicker if you have the proper room, ideally a very large table with room to move around All that said, the results speak for themselves; Definitely recommend getting a dedicated ALR screen if you have a Ultra Short Throw projector. Once mounted, it really does look like a giant TV. The colours just pop and the light reflection works as advertised, although there are models out there that block even more ambient light. Considering this is one of the least expensive screens in this range, I am happy with it

When it comes to setting up a 4K ultra short throw projector in the home theater this ALR screen stands out because of its increased reflectivity having both matte finished texture and framed edging. The engineering of the screen also comes with some drawbacks as the fabric lining has a multi coated ALR textured finish allowing for minimizing ambient light while increasing the vibrancy and saturation of colors from ultra short throw projectors. While it can be DIY utilized with mid range 4K projectors since the screen measures a diagonal 100 inches and is designed for wall mounting the ALR effect is designed to maximize angular reflexivity while reducing top down ambient light. However despite the fancy projector screen lining material I found that installation and setup process is a rather complex approach. It becomes a lengthy DIY project of carefully assembling the aluminum trim on the frame of this projector screen. Thoughtfully the outer rim comes with matte finished coating that aligns into the rear panel components creating this sleek 4K cinematic TV appearance despite being a projector screen. The thoughtful slim frame bezel that makes it feel like a 16:9 aspect ratio wide screen display is what makes this ALR screen stand out for projection in the home theater room. Wall mounting hardware is included but requires drilling and aligning the screen level. There is a kit of both drywall screws, studs, and measuring templates to ensure that this UHD projection screen is aligned well and positioned to create a load bearing capacity evenly between the spacing of the wall mounts. Picture quality across this 4K projector screen is fancy because of the matte finish both on the side framing, aluminum components and the anti glare coating on the screen surface area itself. Assembly process of unrolling the display fabric and spanning it across using the included set of springs, mounting brackets of the projector screen frame is not the most straight forward process. It utilizes a series of inline metal shims with L brackets on the edges to construct the aluminum frame. The outer bezel is screwed into position after aligning the frame onto the screen surface area itself. Unrolling the fabric screen has to be done on a flat surface which takes up a bit of room for assembly while being careful to minimize creasing despite being designed to expand outward using spring hinges on the aluminum rails. There is a noticeable level of dark gray coating so I would say that the black level of the projector screen during ambient daylight projection is somewhat mixed as the increased gamma is noticeable. Simply put that the display having a dark gray matte coating of the projector screen creates this modern vibe in the home theater room while being compatible with UST 4K projector range of sub 3ft. Keystone alignment is straight forward to do and once the spring based expansion effect takes place it does create this flat surface area optimized for 4K projection. Overall this is a cinematic 4K ALR based projector screen with angular light reflectivity designed for ultra short throw projector systems and can be wall mounted but the assembly does require carefully putting together the components as a DIY project to figure out.

I really like this projector screen because it makes a noticeable difference in picture quality, especially when using an ultra short throw projector in a room that isn't completely dark. The 85% ambient ceiling light rejection helps maintain strong contrast and keeps the image looking bright and clear even with some lighting in the room. The 100 inch size creates a true home theatre experience, and 4K content looks sharp, detailed, and vibrant. The fixed frame keeps the screen perfectly flat, which is especially important with a UST projector, and the 16:9 format works great for movies, shows, sports, and gaming. Assembly and installation take some patience because getting a screen this size properly tensioned and mounted is definitely easier with two people. Once installed, though, the finished setup looks clean and professional. This is an excellent ALR screen for anyone investing in a UST home theatre setup. The picture quality, ambient light performance, and large viewing area make it a worthwhile upgrade in my opinion.
