Nice edit size guide isn't quite right

Good quality black hoodie bought as a gift to a person of similar build to me, fitted me comfortably and must fit them as have seen them in it on numerous occasions.

Originally got this in XL to fit a UK size 14 but it was far too large (then again it's probably meant to be loose but I like them fitted). Exchanged it for a small and this fitted better in width but sadly, this meant I had to compromise on the length which isn't ideal as I'm quite tall (5ft 9"). I should perhaps have gotten a medium and taken it in at the sides a bit instead. I undid the bottom hems on the arms and the body and folded them down, thus doubling the length so now it looks better on me. It really is a great hoodie and the Jack motif isn't stiff and rigid. Seller was very helpful. Would recommend.
