Heartaches and Miracles: My Struggle with Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP)

I am not alone...
It is very consoling to know that one is not alone when facing life's difficulties, in this case an obscure blood disorder known as ITP. The disorder or disease (however you want to refer to it) is not so rare as one might think. ITP can be, and often is, a major life-altering experience, often described as a "roller coaster ride" when an affected person's blood platelets can plunge to very dangerous levels. Greta Burroughs' insightful book about her battle with ITP is both heart-rendering and informative. Her story is very consoling to those of us who face the rigors and "unknowns" of ITP on a daily basis. It can be so for others who "do battle" with cancer, heart disease or any number of life threatening/altering diseases/disorders. I highly recommend it!

Inspirational!
Heartaches and Miracles by Greta Burroughs is the most inspirational personal journal about living with the roller coaster ride called ITP. Greta Burroughs describes in such honest detail her journey of being diagnosed, treatments, daily life, struggles with side effects of treatments, and how her inner strength helped her continue to fight and adapt to overcoming daily challenges and miracles. I could relate with her story since I raised a daughter diagnosed with ITP. Must read for anyone going through a personal health crisis to help learn how to focus on what you can do, and not what you cannot do. I am so blessed to find this personal story on ITP, and I know it will help and inspire so many others also going through personal chronic health challenges. Thank you for sharing!

Enlightening
Greta tells it like it is in her recount of events that lead her to the finding of her ITP (also known as immune or idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura) an autoimmune disease causing the destruction of platelets. My husband suffers from this wicked disorder and this book has given me another perspective of someone's discovery, struggle, treatments and acceptance. Since most don't "look sick" with this disorder, this could be a friend, neighbor or the person in front of you in the grocery store. Thank you Greta for carrying the ITP awareness torch.

If you or someone you know have a blood disorder ITP this is the book to read. It provide valuable information and a personal account of someone who live this journey. I only encourage people to read it and get familiar with this disease. In doing so you would not feel alone. Thanks Greta for your book and for helping to spread knowledge of this blood disorder Itp.

Book Review
This was a great book sharing personal insight on Greta's view and experiences with ITP. It's comforting to read such a personal story especially since my daughter has been diagnosed with this disorder. ITP doesn't have many visible signs so people that aren't associated with the disorder can't always understand how serious it can be. Thanks for bringing this to the public on a personal level.

Excellent book for all
This book really gives you a picture of how ITP has affected her life and also, for those readers who don't really know about ITP, tells them what it is and what it can do. Compared to most people, I have had a mild case of the same disorder, but this book shows how devastating it can be, both medically, mentally and financially.
