Lantiseptic Skin Protectant - Original Ointment - 4 oz Tube

This is a completely different formula. While it contains 50% lanolin, according to the label, it is sticky, yellow in color, and shiny - like putting vaseline on your skin. Petroleum slows and even inhibits cell turnover and growth. The original Lantiseptic (see ingredients in the second photo) made by Santus Labs is cream colored, and a totally different texture and works wonderfully! The new stuff is made by DermaRite (see first photo) - they apparently bought Santus, and reformulated it - got rid of the beeswax which was the first ingredient in the original forumla. I re-ordered from a different vendor, hoping to get the Santus formula - but I didn’t. It doesn’t work at all, like the original. My husband & I have used Lantiseptic for all kinds of things over the past years - sores, eczema, wounds (they heal in about 3 days, covered with Lantiseptic and 3M derm tape). It’s been used for years on patients with bedsores. We first learned about it from a nurse anesthetist who learned about it from a wound care nurse specialist. My husband is a reitred MD, and I am a retired Clinical Nurse Specialist. Wish we could find a trove of the Santus, somewhere...

The picture of the three 4 oz tubes I ordered was different from the three that I received. I believe the picture had in big upper case letters," skin protectant" and the 3 tubes that I received said "Moisture Shield". I prefer the Lantiseptic in the 8.5 oz tube that is creamier and easier to squeeze out of the tubes. And that is the one I gave 5 stars to. These 3 tubes are ok but the ingredients are totally different than the original Lantiseptic that I had been ordering the past year. For serious rough dryness on a few places on my feet, the Moisture Shield did not help at all, in fact I had to go back to what little amount I have left in my last original tube of Lantiseptic Protective Ointment with 43% petrolatum, lanolin, bees wax, mineral oil, etc. That blend works much better for what we use it for.

I've been using this product for over 15 years, first on my patients and now on my grandchildren. Great product to get rid of stubborn diaper rashes also great for dry skin as well. The consistency of this product is like soft taffy. I'm a fan for life!

This product was sent home from the hospital as a barrier cream. Works great. We have ordered it a number of times.

Terrible sellers--contacted both on May 10th--Heard back fromstateside once but not northeast at all, and have not heard from either one since May 11. Need to return medical ointment which we did not open and cannot use. Requested refund but so farnothing toward that goal.Please advise-Bob McCormickgoal. Bob McCormick.

This lotion is amazing to allow healing!

Fixes irritation in a hurry. Turns uncomfortable issue into a non-issue. Recommend.
