Excellent painted minis (Zorka deserves special mention)
Excellent painted minis (Zorka deserves special mention). Excellent expansion for an excellent game. If you like alternate history and Weird War 1 (this is where the Tannhäuser universe differs from that of Dust Tactics... no Nazis) then this is the expansion for you! You get an entire Matriarchy faction to bring into combat against the Reich and the Union. Note you only get one new map as the reverse is the same Castle Ksiaz map as the base Tannhäuser game, BUT that means you can actually play a massive TWO MAP game with Castle Ksiaz on one side and the Catacombs on the other. You also need the Revised Edition rule set as the rules in this set are the old 1st Edition rules, superseded by the Novgorod expansion rules included in the base game Revised rule set.The Matriarchy not only brings a new faction to the game, but also a new way of playing. If the Union is all about firepower, and the Reich about Occult power, then the Matriarchy is (to me) a combo of the odd and firepower. Their Voivodes are about the only units that can go up against Reich characters with Mental powers, since the Voivodes are mechanical robots that have no minds to be controlled by, while Zorka brings a touch of the occult with her.TL; DR: if you like the base Tannhäuser game, this is a must-have expansion!

Great Expansion
New faction, new mission, new map...more fun. Only drawback I'll say about quality will be the tokens. They don't seem to be of the quality you would expect from a quality game manufacturer - just be very careful punching your tokens as the will rip if you aren't careful. Nice that the mini's are painted and the game is just about ready to go right out of the box. The scenario is fun and the faction options are intriguing. Would also have been nice if it actually came with 2 factions (per expansion) that way it can almost be a stand-alone game. Overall is gets a solid 5-star endorsement.

Sub par.
The quality of everything in this set is substantially worse than the base game. I love the base game but I was greatly disappointed with the quality of the punch outs (poor perforations), and the minis look... kind of lame. There is only 1 new map, the other side is a repeat for the base game. FFG states that it is used to combine with original map but I feel that it is just a cheap excuse. I was very disappointed that there are not 2 new maps.
