This has really been a treat to use for sewing. I made a few hand finished button holes and this along with vintage silk twist has really given me some wonderful results. As well as sewing on buttons which I've always done, but again with this and the silk twist they are so much more beautifully finished. I first did a few boutonniere holes on some older suit jackets of mine before attemping on a new coat and the wax makes such a difference in both the actual experience of sewing them and the results. And after a quick press with a hot iron they really look flawless. Both the button holes and buttons I did are finished more nicely than what came on the coat.

Good Quality Beeswax
I use this for putting on the end of a toothpick and picking up small crystals for use in jewelry making. This bar of beeswax is more than I'll probably ever use. It's good quality - soft enough to roll into a small ball, but not too soft that it falls apart or smashes when I pick up a crystal. Good product - I will think of more uses for it.

GENEROUS SIZE AND WORKS PERFECTLY!
The beading thread cut its' own groove in the bar of beeswax the first time I used it -- making it easy and quick to use. My first time beading -- so glad I bought this to help keep thread from tangling. It works well.

Every quilter needs this in their sewing basket
I am a quilter and needed this to help strengthen my thread. It is exactly as described - 100% beeswax (no fillers) and has a light/faint "honey" smell to it. The bar size is perfect for what I needed. Also, it is not dried out and crumbly. I had planned on buying more bars to keep on hand, but the price has been raised. Glad I bought 2 when they were cheaper. Not sure why they raised the price on them. But - if you are a quilter and need a great thread conditioner and strengthener - this is what you need.

It doesn't really do the trick
I bought this in place of a nifty little wax in a box product, "Thread Heaven" that I've had forever but couldn't find. So I settled for this bar and it really doesn't work as well at all. It is first of all, bigger and harder to store, sticky to the touch yet it doesn't stick to the quilting thread nearly as well as the other product. But still it gets my fingers sticky when using it. I could put up with the inconvenience of handling it if it worked to make the thread smoother while quilting, but it doesn't affected it at all. Skip this and look for "Thread Heaven" instead. It's out there and will last you forever.

works great now!
Not really soft enough for running thread through. I heated it with two tablespoons of olive oil and then reset it in a dish. works great now!

Does the job!
It's a small bar, but you don't really need that much if you are using it for thread. It crumbles a bit, but works fine so far.Since it's not in a container I like it more than the wax you find at sewing/craft stores for thread as it can be used for other purposes aside from just conditioning thread.

happy to have purchased
used for many purposes (in addition to use on heavy thread).warning: if your dog is like mine, keep it out of its reach. my dog likes to eat it. bees wax is not likely* to hurt your dog. you will just need to buy more.i say "not likely" since i cannot anticipate and predict what CAN happen. e.g. it might choke due to a rare anatomical anomaly.you might keep needles stuck in it and that would be very risky for me to do. :-)

Perfect beeswax product
Easy to use, waxed my thread very well. Great smell, no industrial or chemical smell to it, can tell it’s authentic beeswax! Used it to make Gauntlet Mitts and Moccasins with no problems.

Great product, great packaging
I love that this product has no unnecessary or plastic packaging! The wax works well, I use for fine hand embroidery but you have to be careful not to apply too much or it can create a dull grey-ish effect masking your thread colour (as with all waxes)This block will last ages!

Good piece of kit for cross stitch.
I purchased this for metallic Cross stitch thread. It stops them tangling. There are no instructions, it comes in very eco friendly packaging. Very good value for money.
