Q: what size neck does it fit?

my husband wears a 16.5" shirt collar and has (IMO) an average length neck; he says it is comfortable.

Q: Does this work sleeping on your back? I need some neck support, but other are too thick. Can I turn it around so the opening is in front?

Q: How wide or deep is it?

Under the chin the collar is 3 inches high. Under the ears it is 3.5 inches high. The collar is covered with a removable fabric that resists soiling. The collar itself is mostly viscoelastic (memory) foam that is supported by an internal wire frame. I find it comfortable and usefull on long trips or even at home if you like to doze while sitting.

Q: My neck is 13.5" circumference & about 3.5" from from collar to below chin. Will it fit me? Need support + comfort on plane.

Sorry I can not help you on the fit. I found this sleep collar to marginally helpful as a stand alone support as it felt a bit strange to me. It worked well when I combined it with a pillow on the side. Hope this is helpful for you
