Q: Is this safe to use in a microwave?

I have never used it in a microwave but why would you want to use it in the microwave? It is strictly meant to stop water or a liquid from boiling on the stove

Q: Do you keep the pot minder in the pot after you add food? Or do you take it out before foodnis added to boikig water

I leave the pot finder in the pot while the food boils, it stops it from boiling over. The pot finder stop things from boiling over on the stove. I use it for several things, pasta, potatoes, etc.
