The shims are strong they don’t snap
This is very well built! I’ve used mine at least 3 times in one week

Bargain feeler gauge set.
This feeler gauge set is one of the most complete and lowest priced on Amazon. This set was perfect because I could not find my straight feeler gauge set, and the angled one would not work with the project I am working on. The set worked great, but there were a couple issues that I had while using it. While the gauge is etched with its width, the lettering on the gauge blades are difficult to read if the light is at the wrong angle. The etching is not very deep, as it barely catches my fingernail. I would have appreciated if the lettering was larger and darker. Also, you have to hold your finger on the underside of the feeler gauge to use the knurled knob to tighten the feeler gauges, otherwise it just spins. The stainless steel seems to be of good quality, but I did not check with a caliper if the gauge blades are accurate. They appear to be the same width as my bent feeler gauge set. I would definitely recommend this set at this price point.

Excellent Value!
Very complete set of feeler blades. It is described as a metric set that also has imperial numbers. More accurately it is imperial with the metric numbers below. Not a big deal but it is a very complete set of imperial blades with the metric equivalent below. They have a nice thin film of oil to prevent rust. One blade is brass which comes in handy to check magnetic gaps. I randomly checked blades with a micrometer and they were all within a 10th of thousands of the stated size. The only negative comment I have (and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5) is that the marking on the blades is difficult to see. In the photos they appear to be black numbers but they are much lighter etching. Due to the size of the font used and similarity in color to the steel I had to angle the blades to reflect light to be able to see the numbers. However, these still are a great value and should do the job for a long time!

Classic feeler gauge set - well made, well finished
I remember my father showing me a stainless steel feeler gauge and how it was useful when I was about 5 years old and just starting to explore tools in our family workshop. Growing up I had forgotten about them, until I had to do a tune-up on my first lawnmower and realized my new sparkplugs weren't gapped properly. Getting the gap just right is critical to getting the best spark in any internal combustion engine, and this may be the most common use for feeler gauges. In general they're used to get precise measurement of engineering clearances and might be used in anything as varied as sparkplug gaps, engine valve clearances, and even the clearance between a guitar string the frets on the guitar neck, as well as the clearance between electric guitar strings and electronic pickups. This one is compact, well made, nicely finished, and I really like the screw-down retainer, as it holds the stack of gauges closed when you tighten it. This is a must have item in most toolkits, and I expect to have this one in mine for many years to come.

Good Quality - Excellent Value
No issues with this feeler gauge set. The markings are etched in and none of the blades were bent. There are thicker measuring blades on both ends of the set, which helps prevent the thinner blades from being bent when handling.I checked a few of the thicknesses with a micrometer and they were spot on. I also like that the blades can be removed. At the time of this review this set is one of the best feeler gauge values on Amazon.

Good value however the gauges don't appear to be made from manganese steel so not as tough & durable
While the description is a confusing by first stating that this is stainless it then specifically states that the gauges themselves are manganese steel. This would be great because manganese steel is tough and durable. It is also non-magnetic. Unfortunately, when I tested them these gauges are magnetic so I can't see how they are manganese steel. I suspect that these have a lower manganese content than manganese steel. I did randomly check several of the gauges with my calipers and they are accurate. Given the price point I still think these are a good value given how many gauges are included in the set however - at best the description seems misleading.
