I bought 2 of these placemats for my children in May and so far they look just like new. They are colorful and beautiful!! We don't live in the US and English is not our first language, so during the meals I try to teach them a little by talking about the animals and playing a few games (I say the name of an animal and they try to find it as fast as possible, for example). They love it!! We also have the ones with sea animals, and they are just as beautiful and fun! We haven't tried painting them yet, so I can't say how that will work. When they start losing interest we'll explore the other acivities that can be done with them...

These are the only placemats we use! We have gone through so many different types of placemats for kids and these are superior by far. They are durable and don't curl up over time. Plus they are educational and engaging! Love them! We have been buying Tot Talk placemats for over a year now and they still look new.

I Love these placemats! I have bought at least 10 since my first order...they are educational and fun for the kids while they eat. And laminated all the way around for easy cleaning. They don't come apart when they get wet like other placemats. Couldn't recommend these more.

This is a fantastic product when helping your little one categorize and compartmentalize every day things into separate subjects. It is durable and withstands the test of time, as Im sure you already know, the kids easily destroy everything they touch.

The colors in the picture are much more vibrant than the actual placemat...they aren't dull in person, but not as bright as pictured (and I wouldn't say this is a monitor setting, it appears they altered the pic to brighten it up). The plastic coating is extremely thick, which makes it durable yes...but if you slightly bend it, it will crack and then it is ruined. The finish is also extremely glossy, which scratches easily and makes it look cheap and then impossible to wipe all of the marker off due to it getting caught in the scratches. The pictures on the reverse side they say you can color with a marker are impossible to color with anything more than 1 color because they are too small. Each animal is about 2-3" and has a lot of detail (not cartoonized with broad lines, but rather extremely detailed with very fine lines)...I don't think a professional artist could color these and not get frustrated. There is nothing special about this mat and at almost eight dollars, I'm mad at myself for thinking it would be....same quality of the ones you see at your local Wally-World for $1.99.

Bought Safari toob to go with this. Colors are bright, graphics are good. Dry erase compatible. Kids love it.

Fun for kids. Great as a placemat.

The kids love all the animals and colors. I am not sure how well the material will hold up. If it last 4 months I guess it will be ok.
