They are the same material. The big one is hollow so feels softer than the solid teether. Hope this helped a!

Is this an original or fake?

It is an original. came in a beautiful original box, I bought it for my grand daughter and she loves it.

Doesn't smell of vanilla? Is it supposed to be a strong smell? Perhaps mine is faulty.

Mine had a really lovely vanilla smell can't fault it .

Sophie does have a vanilla scent about her. I think it is the materials she is made from. I do not think that it has been added to make her smell of vanilla.
